OK so I heard about this place from a coworker. She knows I love to primitive camp with my daughter. Took a chance to hike it first to scope it out. I love it. The trails for hiking if not camping are limited but lovely. It is adjacent to Potawatomi Woods preserve but the trail connecting it is quite overgrown after the bridge. We had our dogs so did not attempt it but one could likely mage it with long socks or pants and plenty of bug spray. Back to MacQueen. We looked at all the camp sites. They are all first come first serve and appears maybe only on weekends. There is a host on site. From what I could tell it’s still $4 per “tent”. All are walk in do backpack or wagon is a must. Site 1 is close but very much open. Site 2 is great with water and garbage just adjacent. Hike a bit farther and you can access sites 3-7 which are all shining and part of an open field area. Sites 3-4 are a bit tucked back and site 3 has great trees. Site 8 is really nice. Tucked back and separated from the rest with a view of the creek. Overall I plan to be back to camp for sure. There is garbage, water and pit toilets that may smell a hit but are nicely stocked. Hopes this help!

Beautiful place to camp primitive style But; the shelters are now day Rentals or organized weekend groups only. Where as the old management allowed anyone to rent the cabins and lodge for overnights. We are very disappointed in this change.

Very nice small camp site. There 8 camping spots. They have a picnic table, grill and a fire pit. Camp sites are well mowed and clean. Tent pad areas are OK. You WALK to your camp site. Cary In, Cary out.

If you plan on camping, or using any of the camping sites please pay your dues. Don't spend the night, trash the place, sleep in your vehicle and then leave w/o paying. Not cool. Next time that happens you will...
