Ten of of us visited this vineyard on a tasting this past weekend and the experience was not memorable in a good way.
When we arrived we were taken down to the area where the wine is stored. The room was dimly lit. Two unstable tables were put together, a dated table cloth used to cover the tables. Nothing nice about it at all. Gnats were everywhere! Kay the staff member who presented the tasting to our group called the gnats protein. Disgusting! The gnats were landing on food and getting into drinks.
We ordered food that was not good at all:
1.The meatballs were overcooked so they were dry. The meatballs had wayyyy too much vinegar in the sauce and it took our breath away when we bit into them and began to chew. We could not eat them. Unfortunately I don't have a pic.
the seasonal salad was't bad but the price and serving didn't add up.
The mushroom soup was just ok. It needed seasoning.
Pretzel bites appeared to have been the frozen kind and were microwaved causing them to be very hard. We could not eat most of them.
Hummus plate was ok.
Cheese plate presentation was awful not to mention the cheese looked dried out! One of the cheeses was good.
Kay was the educated staff member who did our tasting. Kay was not the best host. Her attire left us confused and we didn't expect the staff to be dressed this way for a wine tasting. Kay was sarcastic some times and her sense of humor came off as rude to most of of us. Kay often forgot some of the information that she was supposed to share about the wines. We were supposed to get a stemless wine glass but was unable to get one due to supply, so Kay offered an extra pouring which we don't believe she gave us and was not comparable to the stemless wine glass. The tasting pics we saw online looked very nice. The pics showed stemless glasses sitting on a wooden tray with the names of each wine with a description. We were wondering why this wasn't provided for our tasting? I know Kay mentioned the supply issue but she stated they had stemless glasses without the vineyards name on them; we would have preferred those over the Wegman wine glasses. Awful! Several times during the tasting Kay began to disappear on us to the point where we had to look for her. We noticed that she was off setting up for another party. Kay stated that the grapes had been picked from the vines already so Kay did not take us to them. Kay directed us to a room where we could take pics and left us. Kay never wrapped up the tasting, said thank you or farewell. We were soooooo disappointed in the tasting experience.
The wine we tasted was just ok. The best one was the blush. A few of us in the group enjoyed the dry wines. They had an area off to the side where you could purchase wine. A few of us purchased wine and the bags that were given were tacky and they didn't have bags for everyone.
Overall our experience was horrible and we won't be back. Our hope is to try another local winery so that we can have a much...

I wish I could leave more stars, but the service at Paradocx was horrible. If it weren’t for my friend wanting to taste their wine, and our long drive to get there, I would have left without making a purchase.
This was our first time visiting, so we weren’t aware that we needed to seat ourselves. We waited at the hostess stand/register and DJ told us that we can sit anywhere. We chose the brown sofa, but it was saggy and uncomfortable, so we returned to the stand to ask if it was ok to sit at a table that needed to be cleaned. No one at the bar acknowledged us, although we made eye contact several times with them. I had to flag down another employee to ask.
DJ was our server and he checked on us once during our visit. He never shared his name, but I heard someone else say it. When we were ready to pay for our bills it was hard to get his attention. After several minutes of waiting, my friend was able to alert him that we needed him. He had a container of glasses in his hands, and we told him that we could wait until he sat them down. Unfortunately, he never came and continued to do other things that were not customer facing (putting away things in the bar). After several additional minutes of waiting, we returned to the register and asked someone else to close us out (the lady I flagged down earlier). DJ saw that we were there, came by, but still didn’t close out our tab, allowing another colleague to do so instead.
The customer service was not great at all, however, the wine was amazing. I planned to purchase a few bottles, but chose not to do so because of the customer service. It’s important to note that we were the only Black people present, so maybe that’s why they were rude.
The wine: 5/5 The customer service: 0/5
I won’t...
Read moreI am writing this review while it is fresh as we have just returned from the Mother's Day Brunch. I am thoroughly disappointed. First, my mistake. Had I paid attention to the fact that it was a buffet, I would never have booked it. With tax, tip and drinks we spent $192 for 4 persons. There was zero value in this meal. The food was some of the worst I have ever had. There was not flavor to any of it - the shredded pork frittata was boring - absolutely zero flavor. The poached salmon was as bland - one of the trays still had water in it. the stir fry veggies dish was basically heated up frozen vegetable medley and completely overcooked. The Mac and cheese was a disgusting congealed mess. The red velvet cake was more (overly sweet) cream cheese frosting than cake; the cannoli shell had a completely empty, I mean completely hollow middle; amusingly shocking as I showed it to my wife. Thank God for the simple appetizer plate and fresh fruit. Now the atmosphere, I felt like we were in a cafeteria. There was no ambiance, there was nothing special for this special day for the Moms. We could have been there in our pajamas, and jt would have been fine. We had been told that there was a time limit of 75 min for the table. When I had received that notification, I was disappointed. I did not think it was enough time for a table of four. No worries. We were out of there in 45 min. Here is the worse thing: albeit we were with family, this was not the special day I wanted for my wife. We would have had more fun sitting at home by a fire on this chilly May Day, with a nice bottle of a 2000 Bordeaux and a nice cheese and fruit tray. Luckily it is only 3PM and the Bordeaux has just been opened ... we will try and salvage the rest of my wife's...
