The World War II American Experience was a wonderful experience! Found out by Word of mouth, this relatively new museum can be found just miles from Gettysburg in rural country. There is plenty to see in this museum including vehicles, guns, uniforms, tools, models, a gift shop, cafe and more. The tour can either be self guided or a guide will help you as requested. Many unique items can be found. I especially loved the various engineering vehicles. From artillery movers to transports this collection owned by a man who wanted all to experience this wonderful collection to view can be seen in great condition. This collection must be respected. Much hard work was taken in the making of this historical treasure trove. At the end of July there is a three day exhibit as these pieces and more on the property will be outside in display and in running and in firing order. I have not yet experienced this but look forward to it next year. A special thanks to the kind staff at the museum for the...
Read moreGreat little hidden gem near the historical Gettysburg battlefields. If you're into WWII U.S. Army History then this tiny yet packed full of artifacts museum is a must see.
Whether you are single or in a group you can tour on your own or the museum will provide a tour guide to take you through. Folks are friendly and have knowledge of the equipment and exhibits on display. Photographing is welcomed in and outside.
Just to name a few things in the museum, lots of models. A WWII Sherman Tank along with a repair truck to fix vehicles in the field. A gas tanker truck, Jeeps, Army Bridging equipment truck and a Chaplain Jeep with some vintage motorcycles.
Also experience life in 1941 with a walkthrough furnished living room and kitchen from a Sears Roebuck catalog of the time. Some too toys, no tv just radio. Lots to see in this museum, too much to list here.
Will definitely be going back at a future date.

Read moreI visited for the Battle of the Bulge conference, had a great time learning about the war from historians and had the opportunity to meet and talk to WWII veterans in attendance.
The museum is in a large warehouse and is full of WWII vehicles and equipment, all restored and in pristine condition. Jeeps, trucks, tanks, tank destroyers, uniforms, helmets and artifacts from the war offer an up-close view of the ETO. The museum is well lit and roomy. One of the museum volunteers walked around the entire place and expertly explained the vehicles and history behind them to me, which was a real treat
The museum also has a large gift shop with books, collectibles and apparel. Check out the WWII paintings around the lobby and shop, with many signed by veterans. I also snagged a wrap and drink for lunch in their cafe
Plenty of parking and an easy 10 minute drive from the shops and hotels of Gettysburg. Would love to see the other vehicles they have in storage if...
