The access road is forest unpaved but if I could do it in a strictly road motorcycle -look it up, BMW R1150RT- it can be done in any car pickup or motorcycle. The location is hard to find tho. Cell service is very low quality in these mountains and my GPS missed the turn 3 times -I was persistent as this was a personal vacation trip. I managed to take some pictures but did not climb all the way up as I have vertigo. But the tower and location is worth visiting if you are about this neck of the woods

I was on a motorcycle, so the ride up was rough because I was riding a Goldwing, not a dirt or dual-purpose bike. The views were beautiful as well. There was no one else around. The fall colors will be gorgeous from there! The tower is well-built and easy to climb as well.

Wow...worth the trip. Even met one of the man on site involved in the tower restoration; Mr. Smith. He was super! Kids loved it even if it took everything in me to climb to the top...great view!

I was on a motorcycle, so the ride up was rough because I was riding a Goldwing, not a dirt or dual-purpose bike. The views were beautiful as well. There was no one else around. The fall colors will be gorgeous from there! The tower is well-built and easy to climb as well.

I'm happy to see that this tower has been put back up. I have hunted and camped in Jack mountain with my dad since I was a kid and the tower was always a staple of the mountain. When it was taken down it left the mountain almost naked feeling. It's back now and even though its not in the same place it's still nice to see it back. You can see it from Montery just like you could 15 years ago. Thank you to everyone that had a hand in getting the tower back on...

Easy access from highway 250 into Highland County, VA. Lovely woods and ferns on the roughly one mile drive to tower from highway. We've been twice and had a punctured tire both times. We'll try again and see if we're three for three. The tower view is spectacular I'm told (vertigo), the stairs and structure are all pretty open, although solidly built and the tower history...
