My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Shaker Tavern on 11/12/2022, and we couldn’t have picked a better venue! It was outstandingly beautiful and had every resource we could possibly need — a great kitchen for the caterer, rooms to get ready in, and all the chairs and tables we needed. Sally Rogers, SUSV’s curator, coordinated our wedding, and she was so helpful and accommodating. She was always available to help at any time, and she made sure our wedding day went off...

Had never heard of the Shaker Community. Admission was $15 for a non-senior adult. A short 3-4 video introduced the Shakers and the grounds we were to tour. Tour was self-guided and included plenty of informational signs. Lots of stairs throughout so be aware in the case of any physical limitations. There are two buildings you are able to walk through, the rest is an outdoor walk along the grounds, with plaques of where original buildings...

Quite a unique stop. I hadn't planned to stop here on my way through but found it to be a unique little slice of American religious history. The facility was incredibly clean and the adoption of technology by the Shakers was pretty fascinating. I wouldn't necessarily expect people to make long trips to this single destination but if you are in the area and enjoy elements of religious history, you should...
