Dulany's Overlook — Attraction in Frederick

Such a gorgeous venue! Truly a must see as the pictures simply do not do it justice! Both the downstairs old, stone horse stable, exquisitely renovated for the ideal Cocktail Hour space and the spacious, upstairs barn, also beautifuly renovated, were the perfect fit for our 150+ guests! It was over 90° outside but the chillers and huge barn door kept everyone quite comfortable. The old farm house is incredibly beautiful with two huge, separate areas for the wedding parties to split off and get ready! They each had showers, places to hang suits n dresses and Free play arcade games! Just amazing! Mark (we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Juanita, but she does the cleaning and there wasn't a spec of dust to be found!) was incredibly responsive and such a great guy! We felt no pressure, just genuine excitement for us. He obviously loves what he does! Julie, who gave us the initial tour, couldn't have been any sweeter or more accommodating and her follow up made us feel nothing but confident in choosing Dulany's Overlook. Mark's sweet dog, Buttons, joined us when we happily signed the paperwork. Hailey M. was our AMAZING Day-Of Coordinator. She was professional, organized had great suggestions (wich I needed, desperately) and even hand made us a beautiful welcome sign at the very last second when ours was left at home!! I fell in love with this venue, everything about it was beautiful so my fiancé and I decided to hold a date. Their paperwork states that you can hold a date with a deposit for two weeks, and if you back out you get a full refund within 30 days. We found a different venue and I asked for a refund within 7 days. They did not return my deposit within the 30 days, it actually took them two months to refund my money. Most of my emails went unanswered, and nobody would return a single phone call. My fiancé had to cut his trip short and go in person because nobody would return our calls. I felt like I was being cheated by a business. Their lack of professionalism has been beyond disappointing and this whole process was incredibly stressful. I just got engaged and this is the last thing I expected to be dealing with from a wedding venue!
