Being still somewhat new to the area, someone had told me about this place. So with my mom being in town we decided to go check it out. The lady at the orchard was so nice, she cut a bunch of different apples for us to try. I recommend the Sweet 16, if you like a sweeter apple. The gala’s were pretty good too. My daughter liked the one called Lamb Abby. It was a little sour but had a great taste. Anyway, we decided to do the corn maze as well. I don’t recommend doing it in the middle of the day unless you have water with you. It took us almost an hour to get through it but we also were trying to find all of there sports questions, which we did find all of them. In many ways it felt like I barely scratched the surface of the magic this historic place holds; the intimacy of the rolling orchards and cozy hospitality feels so ingrained in the experience that I’m already plotting my next visit. I’d drive twice as far as we did from Ann Arbor if it meant replicating such a perfect afternoon with my family. Why go...
Read moreVery nice orchard that is well up and coming. Parking is tight but, well marked. The gift shop can also be a tight squeeze but, they are expanding so, I look forward to that. The corn maze was muddy but, it's a corn maze and it's been raining all week so...last the hayride was very nice. The son of the owners told us the history of the farm and how his family continues the tradition of growing apples there. He also answered questions and the tractor driver from NYC did an outstanding job! If you're looking for U-pick, you'll have to go somewhere else but, in the gift shop they have plenty of apples and all the help with information on the apples you could ask for. They also have doughnuts, honey, pumpkins, and other farm items for sale. I look forward to Alber Orchards growing...
