We took our 2 grandsons, ages 6 and 4, to Grettas Goats. We had reserved the 4 tickets a couple months ahead. Checking in was easy, our names were on the list generated for that days hike. We signed a simple form and waited by the goat pen for the other members of our group to arrive so we could start the hike. The hike is clearly explained, and how the goats will behave was also explained and all went smoothly. We go to the start of the trail, and then the goats are let out and called by Gretta to where we are at the start of the trail and we proceed. It is a leisurely and comfortable pace for all. I would say anyone from 4 to senior citizen will be able to complete the hike as long as they can walk up a few gentle inclines. The path winds through woods on a trail that is mowed but left natural, not perfectly smoothly groomed like, say, a city park path. Easily navigated, and clean of debris. I am guessing it's about 1/2 wooded and 1/2 field, all mowed. I would use bug deterrent in the warm months, although we experienced no bugs this early May day. The goats are perfect goats, stopping to browse, then trotting or gallavanting up to near the front of the people group. They are a small Nigerian dwarf goat, so the perfect accompanying animal size. Our group ranged in age from our grandsons, 4 & 6, a young and very professionally polite 10 (?) Yr old girl who was a great help, to my husband and I, 64 & 63. The hike was easy and enjoyable for our whole group. There was polite conversation the whole time, approximately 45 minutes. Our 6 year old did not want to leave and I promised we will go back. There is also a lovely gift shop that is not to be missed. They have the most delicious caramels, seasoning salt and a few other seasonings (Turmeric seasoning for popcorn for one), and of course Soap. It's a tranquil spot and a wonderful getaway for a couple hours. The animals and areas are clean and well kept. You are asked to call ahead and schedule your visits as they are a small business and run limited hours, but I found that to be what helps it be so well run. It was definitely worth it. 5...

Great experience. I’ve I interacted with comfort dogs after a helicopter crash, they were amazing, but this is EVEN BETTER. Cheaper than a therapist with immediate mental health benefits. There was another group present at our visit, for a total of six people. Small group, plenty of room, and we each cuddled our own baby goat. Goats were adorable and only days old. Mine fussed briefly and then fell asleep. We were able to see and interact with the other goats in their fenced area, while another group was visible roaming their ~25 acre farm. Very clean. I expected to hold baby goats in a ‘petting zoo’ type setting with hay to sit on and goat poo to avoid. (I made my granddaughter put a bandage over an open wound on her arm-not necessary at all!) we were in a barn/garage like structure with finished floors, chairs, and a heater! Owner SUPER friendly, present for questions and help, but also let us interact without any hovering. I don’t even remember her mentioning the gift shop. Yet, it was adorable and filled with soaps salves, lip balms, small ornaments, tshirts and hoodies, and more. If you’ve ever considered any animal activity GO HERE!...

My husband and I enjoyed our visit today to Gretta's goat farm... We had the pleasure of spending a few hours with Eric while taking the cheese class. Learning of their journey with the farm was truly impressive. They have a love for their business and it shows. The goats themselves are adorable, extremely friendly and personable. We also did purchase soap, which we look forward to enjoying, a little feta and soft cheese spread.. Overall, great experience... My only "I wish moment" was, for the $75 per person cost, "i wish" it included a container of cheese. I understand the batch made that day wouldn't work well to take home, but a previous batch could be distributed. It made me wonder, the soap class, do you get to take home what you make? Having the pleasure of experiencing glass making, pottery and painting classes, you always get to take home what you make.. Overall, a great, recommended experience and it was fun for us as we celebrated my husband's...

After more than a year of being hunkered down for the pandemic, my wife and I thought we would take a chance away from our house for spring break by spending it at the guest house at Short Leg Farm. What a fabulous decision it was! The guest house was charming, and quite private. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals with ingredients we brought from home. We were able to hike the grounds and interact with the goats, donkeys, and dogs with complete confidence. Gretta, Eric, and the farmhands were all very respectful about social distancing and wearing masks. We were even able to participate in the first cheese-making class of the season, and got to see how they make their wonder soaps! A wonderfully restorative week! Thanks Gretta and Eric!

My husband and I went to Gretta's Goat Farm for our second visit. Our stay was amazing. We were able to experience the quiet stay on the farm, the cozy guest house and THE GOATS! The goats are amazing. We were able to pet them freely as the hosts allow you to interact with them. Especially on the goat hike. I was fortunate enough to do this on back-to-back days. It was so fun to play with the goats as they ran around. The hosts are extremely friendly and so nice. They were happy to chat about the farm and provided a chance to purchase things at their store. We took home everything from T-shirts, to goat soap, to honey. All of which were great. The experience on the farm was calm, quiet and therapeutic. We can't wait to go back:)
