Kearney Park, located at 6725 W Kearney Blvd in Fresno, stands as a splendid example of open, green spaces designed for community enjoyment and historical appreciation. This expansive park, with its lush landscapes and historical significance, offers a refreshing retreat from the urban rush.

Pros:

Spacious and Well-Maintained: The park's vast areas are impeccably maintained, offering clean and inviting spaces for picnics, sports, and leisure activities. Rich History: Home to the historic Kearney Mansion, the park provides a unique peek into the architectural and cultural past of the area. Recreational Facilities: Equipped with ample picnic areas, playgrounds, and sports facilities, including soccer fields and a disc golf course, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Event Venue: The park frequently hosts community events, renaissance fairs, and historical tours, adding to its vibrant community appeal. Cons:

Entrance Fee: There's a small entrance fee, but it contributes directly to the upkeep of the park and mansion, ensuring that guests always find it in the best condition. Limited Shade in Some Areas: While many parts of the park are shaded, some areas lack sufficient tree cover, which can be a bit uncomfortable during the hotter months. Experience: Arriving at Kearney Park, you're greeted by expansive fields of green, dotted with mature trees that provide a serene backdrop. The grounds are perfect for a variety of activities, from family picnics and casual strolls to sports and play. The historical Kearney Mansion, beautifully preserved, offers guided tours that enrich your visit with fascinating insights into the local history.

The facilities, from restrooms to picnic areas, are well-maintained, making it easy to spend an entire day here without inconvenience. The staff are friendly and helpful, often seen interacting with visitors to ensure a pleasant park experience.

Final Thoughts: Kearney Park is more than just a park; it's a community treasure that offers both recreational and educational experiences in a beautiful natural setting. Whether you're looking to delve into the historical aspects of Fresno, enjoy a day of sports, or simply relax under the shade of a tree, Kearney Park provides a perfect setting. This is a beautiful Park! Very well kept and hardly any dry areas on the field. 🌲🌳🌴

Disc Golf Course ⛳🥏 $5 to get in. Opens at 7am. You need to wait for gates to open to enter the park. They don't have a map out in front so the course is to the left as you enter. It has it's own designated parking. 18 holes. All of them are flat. The main attraction are all of the trees in the way. Plenty of shade 😎 All of the holes have a sign on where to locate the cage. Note! Be sure to download the UDisc app for the course layout 🥏 If they are maintaining the area, they will work with you if you work with them. Be kind and be patient 👍🏼 Tony is a cool dude! 🤘🏽

Park Amenities The park has plenty of shade and benches/grills to use. Be sure to be aware that only the areas with a SIGN are for reservations only. They also have plenty of restroom areas. If it doesn't have a sign, that is all first come bases.

P.S. There are plenty of one way areas. Be careful and...

The Civil War Reinennactment was a display of people who loved learning about history and past wars. It was more of a revisit than a reenactment, however it was entertaining. Men, women, and children participated in the act, and the horses were trained to be around loud noises of cannons and gunfire. Towards the evening, you can pet the horses if the owners allow you to since they are privately owned. I was lucky enough to be introduced to a mustang named Comanche and fed him grapes and carrots. The Vendors have decently priced food and beverages. My favorite treat is the kettle corn popcorn. The churros were amazing and came out piping...
