Fulton Dog Park — Attraction in Fulton

It is a work in progress. Small saplings have been planted but will take another 15 years to be small trees. The two fenced areas have no place to shade visitors and dogs from the sun nor the harsh wind. Many dogs do mingle while many do not. I often wonder if "curiousity" items like ramps going up and down could be more attractive for them. The fenced areas are large enough to allow thrown toys to be thrown great distances for the dogs to chase. There is a place to water the dogs. There is a "transition" pen to enter and exit. Sometimes there are enough patrons entering or exiting at the same time that patrons need to exercise patience for the other pets to work through acquaintance anxiety; there are patrons there who were not accommodating. Many patrons do not watch their pets while there and do watch their phones for most of the time instead. Expect some owners to slap and hit their pets and yell at the pets; this has created anxiety in many other dogs present there. So be aware, have a couple of ideas of what to do in these situations, and stay mindful of your own pet's anxiety...

My dog loves Fulton dog park. He especially like the social time when other dogs are there. I have meant some nice dog owners and my dog has met some new dogs that are friendly also. It's a great place to give your dog a place to run off some energy, have social activity, and enjoy the freedom of not being on a leash. It Has two dog pens both large enough to handle many dogs at once. Lots of times it is not being used and you and your dog can enjoy just being out and getting some relief from being stuck at home. You dog will love the freedom of being able to run and you can rest easy knowing he or she is safe and secure in a secure fence in area. Huge fenced area (bigger than a football field) divided into a large dog area and a small dog area, they are separated by fence. Free water fountain for people and dogs. There is a fountain for people and a spigot to fill your dish. Very well maintained. Really a great dog park. Thumbs up for the city of Fulton for having and maintaining this park.
