Yes the farm is very nice but the old man there is a rude old grouch to put it nicely. Went there to pick berries with my daughter 4, and son 5. My son is Autistic and we never know how he will respond day to day but I do my best to give him a normal life. Well we went to the farm and my son was more captivated by the trees then the berry picking we did pick a few before my son had a meltdown about his berries falling (maybe 10) it took me 30min just to calm him and he didn't want the berries he dropped bc he said they were dirty now and to make him calm I had to leave. I paid for the berries I picked and homade jam and waters totaling around $15 The mean old man made a nasty comment about me not picking enough berries and said his little grandson could fill up 2 buckets in 3 min. I told him that's good and explained my child was upset and we didn't get the chance to pick as much as i would have liked he have me a nasty smerk so i just smiled and walked away. He's lucky I didn't throw his berries at him. I suppose his grandson and own children are perfect angeles. I will never return and give you bad reviews on every known sight I can! If you want the customer to come back be kind, you'll make more money that way. Word of mouth is far more valuable in profit than any other source when you own a business so you should probably watch the words that come...
Read moreEvery June I look forward to berry season and making the 1/2 hour drive from central Cary to this lovely berry farm in the country. I usually make 2 or 3 trips over the course of the month to pick blackberries, then blueberries. Sometimes I pick raspberries, but there are not as many available and they don't last very long in the refrigerator. Use them quickly! I recommend picking early, arriving within the first hour they open. The temperature is a little cooler and it will have been a few days since the brambles and bushes were last picked. I usually wear water sandals because you will walk through grass that still has dew. Old sneakers are a good option, but they will get a bit wet. I also bring a hat to wear. I enjoy talking with the owners about how the berry season is going. I find them to be pleasant, helpful and willing to share recipes and information. I recommend signing up for the email list. Betty sends emails with informative details letting folks know when berries are ready for picking and when the season...
Read moreso bad, we went and bought a large basket but we realized it was too hot and we could not pick a whole bucket in 1 hour so we found a small bucket and started picking, the owner came and said we did not pay for the small basket and told us to leave, we paid for the small basket but they said it was too late and they took our money and our blueberries, this is what the owner said to us "we've been open for 40 years and no-one has ever tried to STEAL from us" bro nobody wanted to steal from you and they even took our money and gave us nothing, we enjoy berry picking but never ever had to pay before picking, usually we pick then pay after weighing, this place feels like they are scamming you into buying and also forcing you at the same...
