A small one room school in the only town in the US that was built by, and was exclusively occupied the immigrant Chinese in its heyday. This school was also known as the Joe Soong school, and one other such Soong school still operates in Oakland California. Locke was home to the many migrant workers who built much of the levies and made the area an agricultural capital, this small school was the gateway for many of the migrant workers children to better prospects. This museum/school is free to enter.

This Chinese school was built in the early 1900s to ensure that Chinese American children living in Locke learned Chinese. The classroom setting with desks and other materials are pretty well preserved. There are a couple of amazing large busts of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Confucius at the entrance to the school.
