Terramar Beach — Attraction in Galveston

I live in this community and it can be very very beautiful however, the community is ran by a HOA board and community manager that is very very corrupt. Due to this the community is very unpleasent to live or stay in due to the little amount of regulation and up keep. The pool uses a porta potty yet charges double its amount of dues to homeowners then it did in the past year. The community has a majority of short term rentals that have no regulations so many times u can not even drive down the road because people just park in the middle of the road because there is no overflow parking anywhere and extremely narrow roads. If it rains even the slightest most properties are flooded around and underneath due to the community drainage issues that the HOA refuses to address. Many owners have had items stolen and destroyed because people just walk right onto your property under your house if it looks like no one is home and use the downstairs showers and anything you leave under your house if you do not have a fence or gate or a way to stop entrance to your entire property. Be careful when wondering the neighborhood as well because many people do not leash their animals and they will just run at you or wonder the neighborhood and pee and poop everywhere. Units have squatters in them now because there is little security and people watching when homes are left vacant so they can break in. Came when the tide was pretty great! Low tides you can find some good shells on this beach but mostly broken crab shells and barnacles. If you go in the early mornings, you can see the small clams digging into the sand.
