Jean and I have driven by Dunn State Park hundreds of times and we finally decided to stop and visit to see what was there. The park is manicured and very clean with waste barrels scattered everywhere, so there's no excuse to leave trash on the ground or tables. The number of picnic tables are scattered and there are well over 30 which during the summer season are pretty much used. Charcoal BBQs are plentiful so bring briquettes, fluid and a handful of Hotdogs. We decided to walk the long trail and glad we did. The trail circles the swimming lake (No swimming available off season), with exercise stations along the walk. The health stops range from youngster to adult challenge and are fun to try. Read moreThis is a beautiful and clean park. Pet friendly as well. My church and I came here to celebrate Mother's Day, and we had a blast. There are plenty of grills and picnic tables. There are also two park areas for the kiddos to play on and a swimming area. Pets are not allowed on the beach area, but that's ok because pets are allowed everywhere else but the beach. They have bathrooms on-site, but there are no showers. There is a beautiful walking trail. There are also plenty of parking spaces. You will have to pay for parking but it isn't too costly. And boats to rent little ones think maybe still paddle boats too maybe ..ones u peddle..but nice little beach..and a little park with swings and slides and jungle gym...and trails right around that area for the kids to run around like they are in the woods but its cut n made that way from people walking has made a little camping place for bbcues..they have them there little old medal ones they work need coal n u good .. not usually too many people sometimes if go during peak season and it's hot out.
