We stopped by the Shop the beginning of May, 23. Tom had to run home for something and left a note. So we went right down the street to the two jail cell house first. The when we saw his car was back, we went back over. Tom was a wealth of information for traveling Rt 66. He spent quite a bit of time talking to us about the highway, the Gardner of yesterday, and his grandfathers lumber yard. It was an interesting visit. Tom shop has a lot of little things to go with a lot of Coke memorabilia. If you look around, you see a lot of little run things. Then ask him about his caterpillar collection. :)

Tom is literally a gold mine when it comes to the route 66. We had the fortune to meet him today and he allowed us to step in his shop if it were closed. Inside it's like a memorabilia of the route 66. Plus it's a pleasure to talk with Tom, he know so many things of the Route (not only in Illinois but the whole journey) that you could hear him talking for hours. Such a pleasure !! ❤️

Great place to Stop by The Shop! Go in and enjoy Tom's Wood and Stained glass shop, turned man cave. Please stop by for a visit and history, or for information, if the doors open, feel free to stop in and please sign our guestbook, if not enjoy the Coca Cola/Route 66 signage, and please post pictures on Facebook, The Perkins Shop, Gardner Il. Please enjoy your trip on Route 66.
