The city of Garland, city council, gaggle of commie maggots, call it what you want. What they're trying, and so far succeeding at doing is shameful, it borders on illegal whether they "passed a resolution" or not, AND THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF GARLAND, TX SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN! Those control freaks who sit on the city council will do whatever you allow them to do. They cannot do what you tell them NOT to do. SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, GET OFF YOUR A** AND FIGHT FOR WHAT IS YOURS, NOT THEIRS! Geez....

I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but I'll say it again: This is a grab! Somebody with enough money to influence the city council members and the mayor is shutting down Windsurf Bay Park... FOR GOOD. Think I'm dreaming this up? Just take a ganders over to the mess they've commandeered at I-30 and Dalrock Rd. There was a time when that space over there was good for a Saturday splash with the dog... until some corporate goons decided they could make a buck if they bought off the city council. Is EVERYBODY in Dallas County asleep?? One day, you or your children will ask, "why do THOSE people get to decide who can walk up to the lake? Why can't we just go play in the lake if we want to?" If you're honest, you'll tell them the truth. Which is WE WERE TOO BUSY TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT AGENDA 21 (essentially) WAS STEALING FROM ALL OF US.

Edited 4/25/23: Closed AGAIN this weekend! Who closes a public park on the weekend? Moreover, who uses 8 ft fencing and concertina wire to close a public park on...

I was jogging here, what idiot thought to put up the fence to a public park is just crazy feel like it's just there as and allusion. It's not open on FRI ,SAT, OR SUN?! WHATS THE POINT? MOST PEOPLE I KNOW WORK DURING THE WEEK AND HAVE WEEKENDS OFF. SO THE PARK IS ONLY OPEN WHEN PEOPLE PRIMARILY GO TO WORK? WHERE'S THE LOGIC BEHIND THAT.? HOW YOU CONTROLLING NATURE? IT'S RIDICULOUS EVEN THE PARK HOURS ARE DUMB WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS? IT WASN'T A PARK AT FIRST JUST A LAKE AND FEILD SEEMS LIKE THEY WANTED TO MAKE IT A PARK SO THEY CAN HAVE GENERAL CONTROL OVER IT. SMH THE RATING WILL GO MORE DOWN I SEEN ABOUT 4 PEOPLE DRIVE UP AND MAKE A U -TURN. ITS ABOUT TO BE SUMMER TIME AND PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE LAKE ON THE WEEKEND. 🤭 BECAUSE SOME BOZO PUT A FENCE AROUND THE DAMN LAKE THAT'S FREE TO THE PUBLIC!! SMH SO YOU CAN'T GO HERE AT THE WEEKEND AT ALL. THIS IS LITERALLY THE ONLY PARK THAT I KNOW OF THAT CLOSE ON THE WEEKEND . YOU...

The only free swimming spot within an hour, with plenty of parking — that’s a big plus! It’s a nice place to watch sunsets, relax by the water, play with your dog, or let kids enjoy the playground. There’s also a pavilion and a restroom. With a few more picnic tables and trash bins, this place could really shine for families.

But the park is always closed on weekends and federal holidays — basically the exact time most people want to go. Kind of a bummer. You’ll often see people drinking, dogs off leash, loud music, and trash around (even on the lake bottom). Sometimes boaters and jet skis act reckless too.

It would be great if the police checked in sometimes to enforce rules on alcohol, noise, and dogs. With a bit more control, this place could go from “frustrating but pretty” to “hidden gem.”...

I posted a review a few days ago about the addition of the fence to the edge of the water. I went back today hoping there were still openings in the fence but saw there are “no swimming”, “no loud music” signs. HOWEVER, people with access to boats parked their boats directly on the shore, swam, and played loud music. It’s unfortunate that access to the water is only for those that can afford to break the rules.

My kids are easy to please and love this location to wade and swim 🏊‍♂️ in the water for FREE. They play with the sand and enjoy the waves from boats 🚣🏼‍♂️ and jet skis. Great place for a family cookout! They have a lot of mature trees 🌳 for good shade, a well covered gazebo and a park that’s partially shaded.
