I brought my 7-year-old daughter here for a tour before introducing her to her first GSP novel. We were the only visitors that afternoon, and I can only express praise and enthusiasm regarding the site staff and the exhibits.
Our guide/naturalist, Mr. Curt Burnette, had an amazing depth of knowledge regarding GSP, the site, and history of the local area. He was easily able to keep the tour interesting for both an adult and a child, even reciting from memory parts of GSP’s novels that pertained to different parts of the tour. He was even able to recommend a GSP novel that would likely be appropriate and interesting for my daughter. Extremely sympatico tour guide, check. So bring the kiddos, spark their interest, then have them read one of her kidcentric novels.    Read moreMy daughter and 10 year old granddaughter and I visited here on fall break. We toured the house, walked the grounds and had a nice visit with the Docent who was very knowledgeable. I learned more about Indiana's famous author on this visit than I had years ago. Well worth it. I appreciate how the Docent talked with my granddaughter asking her for her observations. On the way home we read, "a Girl of the Limberlost" out loud which was a nice finish...
