I found Eros randomly while searching for lobster shacks near a hiking trail, and immediately signed up for a tour once I saw it was available on the day I'd be in town. It was fantastic! Mike is funny and informative, and while the tour itself wasn't much (just a dock with baby oysters in tanks and a shell tumbling machine), it was very educational. The shucking lesson was great -- they provided oysters, shuckers, towels and lemon juice -- and you were free to eat as many as you can shuck in the bucket of oysters at each table. My friend and I felt we needed more practice so we raided other tables for their leftover oysters. Eros oysters are very mild in flavor with a slightly sweet finish. The best part was after the tour, we opted to pick our own oysters to take home (they have a U-pick operation) from pre-harvested bins of different sizes. Same price no matter the size. They provide net bags for the oysters. We got two dozen grillers, which are large size, to shuck at home with the shuckers we purchased after the tour. They were delicious -- we shared them with our friends who are new to raw oysters and of the three local varieties we bought during our trip, our friends wanted more of the Eros oysters. Thank you Mike and the Eros team for the wonderful morning at your oyster farm and for your...

What a unique experience—truly one of the most memorable parts of our New England trip.

Eros Oyster isn’t your typical seafood stop. You head down to the dock, grab a crate, and literally pull the oysters straight out of the water yourself. It’s all set up on the honor system, which somehow makes it feel even more special—quiet, trusting, and low-key in the best way.

It’s perfect if you want to bring oysters home or if you’re comfortable shucking them yourself. They have the tools and a bit of guidance if needed, but the experience is very hands-off. You’re just out there with the water, the crates, and the oysters—no lines, no rush.

The setting is beautiful, and the oysters are as fresh as it gets. Briny, clean, and full of that classic Maine flavor. Whether you’re stopping by for a dozen or packing a few dozen to take back, it feels like you’re part of something local and real.

Even better, they accept Venmo too .

We absolutely loved this spot. It’s not about fancy presentation—it’s about freshness, simplicity, and experience. Eros Oyster is the kind of place you’ll remember long after the trip ends.

Definitely a hidden gem worth the detour, I went back on our road tour to make this visit happen and am so...

Our family of 4 adults and 2 children visited arrows oyster farm this week. Joining us were about another 20 people or so. Mike, the owner for gave us a very detailed discussion on the oyster itself and how they farm raise their oysters. It was terrific. We then went down to the dock to see the process, and he once again explained how everything worked at the farm. Once again his description of the way, things worked at the dock was outstanding, and his workers were also so friendly and informative. We then went back up to the picnic area where he showed everyone how to shuck oysters if they needed and then provided us with as many oysters as we could eat. i’d like to think of myself as somewhat of an oyster expert having probably eaten over 100 different oysters. Without doubt these were the finest most flavorful and simply delicious oysters. I would very highly recommend that if you love oysters and want to find out the process of farmed oysters, you...

We came here for the tour thingie they do. We've been to Glidden Point and done their tour, this was similar. The guy who runs it is an ex Cornell professor and he obviously knows how to talk to an audience. The tour was pretty basic, great if you've never done it before. After you get about 30 minutes to eat all the oysters you can shuck. Many of the people on our tour were elderly cruise so Bae and I (and one cruise ship guy) managed to house over a dozen in the time alotted. I'm not a pro shocker but I've been to Glidden Point about a half dozen times by now so I was already familiar with the procedure. In that sense, it was a good deal, 40 bucks a piece for the talk and over 24 oysters between us. You can byob and I highly recommend it. A light craft brew four pack will do you nicely. You can also pick your own, which I would def do over the tour if we come through Georgetown again.

My family of five plus another family of three spent a delightful afternoon at Eros taking a tour with Mike. We learned about the whole process of raising and harvesting oysters, got to see the equipment used in the process (some even demoed in real time) and then spent time learning how to shuck the oysters. We’d brought a picnic and bottle of rosé and had just the best time eating, tasting, and chatting at the picnic tables by the water. Mike was an excellent instructor - he explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions (including the less-coherent ones from the children) and provided a true insiders perspective on the process. And the oysters were fantastic!! Would highly recommend the tour and of course suggest stopping by for the u-pick/u-shuck stand too. Thanks Mike for a wonderful experience for our families!
