Great place to camp. Stopped in for the night en route to Cape May. Note** Call the number on Google maps to confirm reservation with a Forest service staff prior to going. I did and was informed the booking website was having an issue because I was to receive an email prior to my departure. Either way no big deal. Only $20-ish per night too! Forest service staff was informative on all you need to know. There is no formal check in with a travel center or wait to meet someone either which is nice. The lots were spacious and very clean. Cleaner then how most people leave commercial and government camp spots. Also spots are mostly shaded, the fire pits, tables grills all maintained well. Firewood is provided, through $5.00 bill in the box for a bundle. Some complain of the off in the distance, get over it as it won't last forever. Some complain of ticks, well your camping, so check yourself ever so often and spray. This Park is a hidden gem off the beaten path a tad bit. Pretty cool area to...

Camped here August 2023 in one of the new campsites which are quite nice. The sites are gravel pads with new grills, metal fire rings/pits, and picnic tables. Reasonably flat and plenty of room for two small or one large tent (though watch your distance from the fire pit...). Online reservations were easy. The new sites are well separated (moreso than the older ones) and the road to access them is good. One issue is that, while the campground map shows water and facilities, these haven't been built yet (empty lot - hence losing a star). So either prepare for that, or call ahead. There is a portapotty near HQ, but no obvious drinking water source after hours (we arrived after closing time, so we couldn't ask about this). Hiking and trails were generally good, and it's a good location to...

Trail by the headquarters was nice. Well I guess it's a road through the woods. It would be really nice if you could drive on it. Drove through the campground and the spots seemed really tight and now they charge you to stay there and pay for wood.

After now staying at the campground I would have to say it's the worst campground my wife and I have ever stayed at. Extremely loud at night with road noise from 113. Neighbors didnt return to their site until after midnight and were extremely loud as well until probably 2am. If the ranger had stopped by this would have been resolved. Tent sites are way too small and open. The only positive was the small fishing pond. Caught about 6 bass in about 40 minutes. I don't think I would stay here again if...

Beautiful and peaceful place to camp. Sites were clean and there was plenty of space to set up a tent and also park vehicles. Fire pit with wooden benches, grill for cooking and a picnic table. Wood available for purchase was a few steps away. No showers. No bathroom. No electricity. More like camping. There is a port o potty that was a short walk as well as a water spigot on the outside of the office. Bugs and ticks were supposed to be bad. We were there 3 days and only saw a few daddy long legs and a few flies. Did not even need the bug spray we brought. Will surely return!

Beautiful camp ground. Only one other site taken on a Friday night. A little noise from the highway, but not bad. Lots of ticks though. Everyone in the group had a few, despite long pants, sleeves, and DEET. We were unable to find the water tap.
