We had a good time here. It’s a Japanese-style garden built out of friendship between Japan and Georgetown. Came to explore it; some of the girls rode bikes, and one brought rollerblades. Before arriving, we didn’t realize the trails were covered in pea gravel, so it wasn’t exactly conducive to biking, and rollerblading was impossible. Once we figured that out, we had a lovely jaunt along the trails. It was practically empty of visitors; one other car was in the lot while we were there, and we might’ve seen its owner from a distance, but we never met another park-goer on the paths. This is a garden with a pond and trails you can walk around. We didn’t see a bathroom, but there were some buildings; one looked like an event center and the other seemed like it housed the gardening supplies. This seemed like a great place to come if you’re feeling contemplative and want to quietly gaze into a serene pond, or if you need some lush scenery for a photography session. I’ll come back, but maybe without the...
Read moreI visited this park years ago and had great memories of my time there. The grounds used to be lovely, there were beautiful KOI in the water features, there was always some sort of striking art exhibit in the pavilion, and there were regularly scheduled events allowing participation in traditional raku pottery at the on-site kilns. I visited the park recently and was so sad to find that the park has fallen into disrepair. Most of the structures have been warped by a mixture of the elements and neglect, often to the point of being unsafe. The grounds have not been maintained, the ponds and streams are covered in algae, and literally stink. I smelled the stink at the entrance gate long before the pond was in view. What was once a pristine zen garden has become not much more than a dirty gravel pit overrun by weeds. It saddens me that this is still compared to a Japanese Strolling Garden; it doesn’t resemble anything I’ve ever...
Read moreThis Place is beautiful I had my wedding there recently, we rented the building for 200 an hour with a 200 dollar "refundable" deposit. The contract states if you run over on the time you pay for or do not clean up after yourself they will keep the refundable deposit. However after the event we swept, put everything back to where we found it and left the building in the same condition as when we found it which it states to do in the contract. I was told to call in regards to the refundable deposit afterwards so I did. And when I called they said that we left the location filthy which we did not. So be prepared although this location is beautiful they will be taking every penny they can from you so do not expect you receive your "refundable" deposit back it will not happen you may as well not waist your time...
