So nice and expansive. There's very nice playgrounds, tennis courts, baseball fields, bathrooms and plenty of walking and trails for you and your dog or a friend you can tell everything's reasonably new to. Named after a local man killed in in the global war on terror. He was one of our own from Marietta. The park is a lovey reminder of his life and his sacrifice and you feel grateful to have a lovely place like this because of his and others service to our country. There is a statue with a plaque with more details of exactly who he was and what he did. But what's important I've already stated he was one of us and lost in this war. Thank you Skip Wells....
Read moreI know this place as bells ferry park but they changed the name at some point over the last 2.5 years. I love this place and grew up playing softball for various leagues at the park. The playground went through a much needed upgrade since I was a kid. They updated the playground equipment and miss it up to where the tennis courts are making it more user friendly- granted this update happened ages ago. I just felt like mentioning it after hanging out at the park yesterday and playing in the now open field where the original playground had been. Anyway... Great...
Read moreThe hiking trails through the trees are well maintained if understandably short. Plenty of parking. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean, kudos to the team who maintains them. I haven't used the athletic fields, but they're well maintained with green grass and are actively used. The small playground is well equipped and maintained. No trash lying around. Very nice park. Beware that, despite signs and laws, many dog owners won't clean up after them here, and they're often running around...
