I won my first quota hunt and was excited to get there. About 7 quota winners were there and about 30 stand by hunters. The 7-10 blinds liked to be hot spots at that time so when they called my name I clearly announced SEVEN. Even my buddy standing over at the map heard me say it. We climbed on our transport for blind seven. When we got there a group of standby hunters got off too. The driver called in and the guy on the other end said the standby hunters were at seven and that I was at blind three. They sound nothing alike. We shot nothing at blind three. But I will say that when the guy (Robert) who usually is there got back he let me know that he emailed to get my quota point point back on my license and apologized for the misunderstanding. LOVE this place, but do NOT like being accused of thievery due to trying to salvage abandoned property left in the river. Also hate that I have to CLEAN bathroom/shower before using, but THAT is due to people mistreating property & being plain old nasty! The bath-house could use a fulltime employee willing to go behind noncaring individuals to CLEAN. Thus the ridges in the buffalo swamp are getting to thick the pine beatles and hurricanes have ruined some of the pristine areas. Sad..And I go camping annually and noticed on Lewis side and Cathead side the more accessible camping areas are trashed with beer cans burn it or take it with you...

Honestly wish it would have been easier to navigate. Several dead ends, closed watch towers, and maps didn't help too much. Saw some neat birds at least.

I've been at this location several times. It is my favorite place to go fishing. The area is very clean and I really appreciate having the police checks.

Good place to visit. Lots of history here. Could use some upkeep. Lots of snakes coming out of what looks to be an old chimney 😯
