This park has a ton of potential but it lacks enough staffing to be able to meet those needs. The walking track is in excellent condition with exercise stations dispersed throughout. The disc golf course is challenging and it is constantly being worked on and updated by the local disc golf community. The tennis court is state of the art with brand new lights and asphalt. The dog park is large enough to accommodate both large and small breeds of dogs. The skatepark is in need of major renovations. Many of the ramps are rusted and it seems like the county gave up on making necessary repairs. They also refuse to turn on the lights even though there is only an hour of daylight by the time the kids go to the park to roller skate and skateboard. There are no accessible restrooms on that half of the park as well. You have to drive to the main section of the park to locate any restroom facilities. I have reached out to the office and they don’t know who to contact to get the lights turned on for the skatepark. It’s a shame to have to drive an hour away to go to CJ Smith park in Newnan just so my kids can roll around. I assumed as much funding as the county gets from our taxes that it would be able to handle both new parks as well as upkeep and renovations to all portions of the...

On April 19th I had one of the worst experiences with the Front Desk/Operator. I received a memo about the Easter Extravaganza and the address on the flyer was Deer Lick Park. Mind you the event was from 11-2 pm …..I arrived at 11am on the dot……The girl at the front desk continuously LIED and gave me the run around about the event not starting yet and they’re not here to set up. I knew something was off because there was no children, bounce house etc……..After almost 2 hours I asked okay so when will this actually start. This girl is going to say sorry the party is next week …..HOW IF EASTER IS ON SUNDAY ! …..she got upset and gave her male coworker the phone who finally told me the truth about the event being at Boundary Waters and then LIED to me about them pushing the event back and was telling me they haven’t started yet. They are liars and was just trying to cover up the fact they made me and my child miss 2 hours of the everything. My daughter only really had 45 minutes to really enjoy herself. I can’t believe you all lied to my face like that after driving from the city just to...

The skatepark is over 20 years old and in need of repairs. The metal ramps are rusted and falling apart. There are no restrooms or water fountains. They have stadium lights for the park but refuse to turn them on which can lead to some kid falling and getting injured. There are women who like to jog around the park and they could be injured or kidnapped because its so dark. There is a tennis court nearby which is kept up really nice with restrooms and lights that they turn on even when no one is there. There are usually more people who use the skatepark but it seems the county or the park rangers are purposely discriminating against the skateboarders. It gets dark around 5 p.m. with the time change and they never turn the lights on for the skatepark . When asked, they say they are understaffed and they have no one to turn them on. Why don't they put the lights on a timer like the...

I love this park! The walking / running path is nice and smooth so you can push a stroller like it’s a hot knife through butter. Obviously, due to COVID parts of the park are currently closed but I look forward using them when available. There’s dog parks, skateboarding, multiple playgrounds, etc. A great place to host birthday parties/family reunions. There’s covered, screened in outdoor pavilions. It’s always clean and good to go!

I had a good experience at this park! I walked the disc golf course even though I wasn't playing. It's mostly in the shade and that's definitely what I needed. The heat today was no joke! 🔥 There's tons of beautiful trees. 🥰🌳 There's a pond with lots of geese, too. 🦆 They have food machines for the geese, which I love! Take some quarters to feed them, not your leftover bread!

Great place for a walk. They have also added free exercise stations around the lake for pull ups, a body lifts and a ski type cycle. Public restrooms are available and a playground for the little ones. One bit of warning: There are a lot of Canada Geese around the lake so watch where you walk along one part of the path or leave the good shoes home.
