Hell of a hike to get out here from the Dungeness ferry dock, but it’s so worth it. We had the beach to ourselves!

If you can stand the walk and the heat, take the so called “desert” route from the ruins of the Dungeness Mansion. The wide open beach is definitely worth the trip. Make sure you can bear the sun though, because after noon this path becomes nearly unbearably hot! I suggest wearing good covering clothes until you get there. Otherwise, there is a longer route from Sea Camp ferry dock, with more shade as far as I heard. We didn’t take that route.

The sand is clean and soft, and the water was warm and had gentle waves throughout our visit. One of the nicest beaches I’ve stopped at!

There are no trash cans as it is located on national park land, so you have to pack your trash and take it back with you. Please...

I highly recommend visiting the beach as there are a lot of shells and the water is pretty good! It will feel secluded if you walk far enough from the trails as you will definitely have a great time enjoying the...

This is part of the suggested hiking route for day visitors on the island. Lots and lots of sea birds and dead jellyfish on the beach. If you’re lucky you might see horses on...
