My visit to Gibbs Gardens was an absolutely refreshing and memorable experience. Surrounded by beautiful seasonal flowers, vibrant fall colors, and peaceful landscapes, the garden felt like stepping into a living painting. Every corner offered something unique, from colorful roses and hydrangeas to water lilies floating serenely on ponds. The changing fall leaves rich shades of red, orange, and gold added an extra layer of charm and perfectly framed the floral displays. The design and layout of the gardens made the experience even more enjoyable. Clear signboards and maps were thoughtfully placed throughout the property, making navigation simple and stress-free. I could easily find each themed garden, whether it was the Japanese garden with its stone lanterns and statues or the wide flower fields bursting with color. This attention to detail ensured that I could focus fully on the beauty around me without worrying about directions. The staff at Gibbs Gardens were another highlight of my visit. They were consistently friendly, approachable, and helpful whether offering guidance on trails or simply greeting visitors with a warm smile. Their presence made the entire visit feel welcoming and well-organized, showing that guest experience is clearly a top priority here.I was also impressed by the balance between natural beauty and careful landscaping. The wooded areas, with tall trees and filtered sunlight, offered rustic charm, while the manicured flower beds and artistic sculptures added elegance. Together, they created an atmosphere that was peaceful yet energizing, making it easy to spend hours just wandering, relaxing, and taking photographs.Cleanliness and maintenance were excellent as well. The walking paths were tidy, rest areas were spotless, and benches were thoughtfully placed for comfort and photo opportunities. Every detail seemed designed with visitors in mind, which made the day even more enjoyable.Overall, Gibbs Gardens is not just a place to see flowers itâs a sanctuary for the soul. It offers peace, joy, and inspiration in every season. Whether you are looking for a quiet escape, a spot for photography, or simply a way to reconnect with nature, Gibbs Gardens delivers an unforgettable experience. With its helpful staff, clear organization, and breathtaking scenery, it truly deserves its reputation as one of the most beautiful gardens to visit....

DO NOT UBER HERE! I can only imagine how many people get stranded, but I thought to say it too.. An Uber/Lyft/etc. can drop you off, but there will NOT be anyone to pick you up, as Gibbs Garden is literally in the middle of nowhere Parking is easy and hassle free, with a parking lot attendant always present to help direct traffic flow Although the full bloom of spring had not kicked in yet, we still though the garden was beautiful. We think we talked the entirety of the grounds, but I can't be sure, since it seemed there was always more to see! Wear comfy shoes, this includes a LOT of walking! Once you start walking, you seem to keep going, so maybe grab a drink and use the restroom prior to heading off into the gardens. All paths are clearly labeled with signage and the map is very helpful when trying to locate where you would like to go next. There are plenty of seating options as you walk through the gardens, so it will be easy to find a spot to relax and enjoy the view ( I recommend a seat in the Japanese garden or on the Hill with a Mountain View).
Now that Spring has sprung, we are scheduling our next visit to get the full Gibbs experience :)
I will give a PSA to those who have very young children who are able to walk/run/etc. : PLEASE do not allow your child to run through the flowers, scream the entire time they are in the gardens, throw items of food around while walking, etc. My partner and I come to gardens to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature, not to hear children yell at the top of their lungs (I assume this is what most people come here for), so please be respectful and remind your children where they are and what behavior is expected of them. This will make the experience even better for you, your children, and...
Read moreOne of the nicest privately owned botanical gardens on the East coast. If you live within an hour or two drive of Gibbs, I recommend making the trip.
This was my second trip to Gibbs Gardens and I went on a day with intermittent rain. The greens were so vibrant and the water on the flowers was like diamonds! So donât be deterred by a few clouds!
Here are a few PRO TIPS:
Call before you go. Find out what flowers are in bloom or which flowers may be coming soon. It may be worth waiting a week or two OR you may find that you must go immediately to see the height of bloom season for Daffodils for example.
The last couple years Daffodils have been at peak bloom around the first week of April.
Visit Fern Valley. Amazing wild flora and fauna can be found in the wetland valley at the far end of the grounds past the Japanese Gardens. The trail traverses several creeks with cute wooden bridges and Ferns and Trilliums are prolific as well as Wood Anemones, Flame Azaleas, Blood Root, Mayapple and more.
The map can be overwhelming. Find a guide, ask them to direct you to the best blooms of the day. Then pick your route and enjoy the meandering trails which are all lined with streams and ponds, gorgeous Japanese Maples, Chinese Snow Balls, Dawn Redwoods and many terrain hugging flower gardens.
Donât worry about a year membership upfront. Visit, see whatâs in bloom, find out what you missed and when you leave ask yourself this question. Would it be worth coming back at least two more times in the next twelve months. If so, your day pass can be used towards your...
