Great trails, paved parking lot is a nice feature. But TWO WAY TRAFFIC so be careful. We had a close call at the top of a hill around a corner, but thankfully the incoming riders were aware just like us. Please watch out while riding here, and always move to the right immediately if someone is coming head on, and let them know how many other riders are following. No SxS allowed which is awesome news for dirt bikes and quads, hardly any huge ruts! 50" max width or you wont fit in the gate. Trails were maintained just right to still have a little challenge. Hardest obstacle we did was on the 7 mile trail with two small rock faces (1 foot high) on a small hill. Easy peasy going down them (clockwise direction) but probably would have been a little sketchy going up on one of the atvs we were riding. (250 2wd). Trails across from the check in spot are smooth, steep, and fun. Hills look intimidating but this place is so well maintained even beginners can go on the...
Read moreFinally caught this place open today and checked the website to make sure. After riding today I can see why they have to close it during rain as there are many bowls through the trails. Also, I see why others in the reviews commented on the need for directional trails as it is hilly and there is no way to know what is on the other side. Seems like it would be easy enough. Besides that, this place is awesome and close for the family to hit the trails. It's not super technical but still was a blast and surprised me for how much fun we had. Forest service was on site asking for proof of permit so get it paid before you go as there is no cell...
Read moreI've been to all of the more popular places, but Houston Valley edges out Prentice Cooper as my favorite ATV park. The difficult trails are tricky, but not downright unpredictable and dangerous like those at other places. It's most definitely a place you can take your young kid to his/her first ATV adventure and not have to worry about the trails being too technical. It's just downright fun to ride here and it's definitely more bang for the buck at $5. The only negative is that the trails are two-way trails and that COULD be scary but trail awareness seems to be pretty common here and that says a lot about the people...
