Juliette Dam — Attraction in Georgia

This park is a good place to go and relax with your family or by yourself on a stressful day. My brothers and friends of ours have used the boat ramp and gone up-river. We caught some fish and had a great time. Last week we had a lot of rain and when I left for home in Monticello the park was about 80 to 90% under water. It was a very cool but kind of scary thing to see. You couldn't even see the damage because it was so far under water. If you were a first time visitor, you would never have known there was even a Dam there. I like this small, but neat park and I, no doubt, will be visiting it as often as I can in the future. The entire area around this dam is a Hidden Gem in Monroe county. It's down the street from the famous Whistle Stop Cafe from the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. Top side of dam is perfect for kayaking boating and fishing. Both sides of the bottom of the dam are amazing areas. Take a camera!!! Photo is from bottom of dam next to the Ocmulgee River Cabins...

Very cool experience! The dam is very unique and it is possible to walk over (as seen in 'Green Fried Tomatoes'), however there are no safety measures in place and it is not recommended to walk across. Not the right experience for a family trip, but definitely worth the risk for anyone that lined to adventure....
