Kenwood Park is such a treasure on the Northside of Fayetteville, Georgia. You have your choice of walking and/or running on the track, or doing so on the nature trail. There are tennis and basketball courts, nice seated swings, two playgrounds, and even a sandy volleyball area! Whatever your physical pleasure is this park has it. What I love most about Kenwood is that it is rarely isolated. I am a female and I tend to jog alone so I love being surrounded by people for safety reasons, especially if I take on the nature trail. However, if you prefer a park that's not too crowded and you enjoy isolation, this is probably not the park for you, unless you go at time that's not "peak" time, say early morning or afternoon. The only reason I didn't give Kenwood five stars is because I feel it could be better maintained; however, we park goers and users share in the responsibility of promoting a clean and unpolluted environment. Read moreThis is a nice place to go jog for me.. I don't suggest jogging on the asphalt track.. Never saw this before.. Asphalt track is the cheap route.. Track should have been laid with soft padding material.. I run on the perimeter, concrete sidewalk, which is a smooth hard sturdy surface.. Do about 9/miles.. Takes about 1hour and 30/minutes.. There's a trail on the back side of the track which is about .9 of a mile long. Very woody trail, but very enjoyable to walk or run with a partner.. I really love this park. But they (Fayette County dept of Recreation) really short changed us on this one tho. The pic nic areas need to be maintain regularly too.. But nice park to visit, just...
Read moreIt is clean. There is a field and a surrounding track. There is a trail that I'd like to explore. There is a volleyball pit, tennis court, and small playground. I walked/jogged the track with my mom and infant son in a stroller. He slept peacefully. We had a great time.
Con: I can see how parking could be a hassle. There was what appeared to be a pick up soccer match and there were only a few parking spaces left near the field. The only other lot is as soon as you enter the park, which is a little walk.
Also, the entrance seems a little dangerous. There is a hard stop when you turn into the park, but no stop sign or other indication that you are running...
