Lake Varner Reservoir — Attraction in Georgia

Absolutely beautiful. For the most part it is really calm. You have several wonderful places to sit by the water and feel at peace. There is a playground area further back from the water & restrooms close by to it. Tons of picnic tables & a pier to fish from. The boat ramp off to its self so the boats aren’t near the sitting areas, but their is a bench near the boat ramp if you’d like to sit near there. Two very big pavilion covered areas if you want to have a gathering/party.

Had a great time. It was beautiful there. Pretty peaceful and then some people rolled up while we were picnicking and played super loud music with the windows down. It stopped after a while, but it was super loud. Another bummer is there is no swimming, but I understand because there is a water treatment plant next door. I want to come kayak here. It looks fun. There is a playground, but there is literally only a teeny-tiny paved trail that's probably less than a quarter mile. We were hoping there would be more trails. I definitely think we'll be back to...

We have just started kayaking there this year but have fished there for many years prior! I love that it's always clean, peaceful, and quiet. This particular day though I was taking pictures of reflections of the clouds and nature and when I got home I was looking at my pictures I saw these two pictures that look like there is a nest of snakes and my question would be now is there water moccasins in Newtown county reported? 😳 It won't keep me from going there I'll just be more careful just...
