Good fishing. Overall it's a clean park with the exception of the occasional disrespectful visitor that won't clean up after themselves at the fish cleanin table or fishing area. A lot people will come and go to fish at the lock but the park remains peaceful. Staff is always very pleasant an professional. We typically camp there 3-4 times a yr an have done so for the past few years and have never had an issue. The pavilions are great but if you want to be more in the "woods" they have nice spots. If you tent camp that area is awesome. To be honest I think I'd rather dry camp my Jayco in that area than up front but I like having the power and the water. Rates per night are very reasonable but I are am finding that this little gem of areas campground is getting better known. Used to be I could call 2 days in advance to reserve a spot and the last 2 times I had to reserve as far out as 3-4 weeks. I hate that but it's worth the wait. And if you need something there is a corner store about 10 minutes down the road and a Walmart is about a 20-30 minutes drive. They also have a small bait shop in the office but if they don't have what you are lookin for there is a bait shop next to the...

This was a nice little park and campground area with a good hiking trail. The park has multiple playgrounds that look cool (didn't have my son with me). The lock itself is no longer functioning, but makes a cool little overlook to the river and apparently a good fishing spot.

The campground had spots right along the water, and some back in the woods. They all looked nice.

Really, we were here for the hiking trail. The trail isn't super challenging, mostly smooth paths with slight inclines here and there. The path is wide and easy enough to follow. The map they provide is not very good, and there are very few markings along the path, so it wouldn't be hard to get turned around, but since it's mostly a big circle, you shouldn't be able to get lost. There's also an overlook point that has some nice views and a bench and small picnic table.

One thing we really liked is that they had the roots that stuck up along the path marked with bright orange paint. Helped make sure you didn't trip or get your foot caught,...

Okay sites, but no signage to direct you to the camping area when you come in. The bath house was serviceable but nasty when we were there, but just needed a good cleaning- and toilet paper, all the stalls lacked toilet paper. We called in a same day reservation, which was convenient, but they put us in a ā€œpremiumā€ site which turned out to mean it had a roof over the picnic table and cost more, and was on the high traffic drive that went into the camping area. We chose a different open site when we got there, but couldn’t cancel our reservation online and change sites, and so paid the premium price. On the other hand the ā€œprimitiveā€ area was beautiful and had a group camp area and a couple of lean-to shelters. There was a pit toilet and water available. The pit toilets were in a very interesting but less than functional building. There is a nice walking trail, playground, boat launch and...

Its good for a quick stay or if you bring a boat for fishing. No signs for where to check in, where camping is or right of way for that matter. Road to the camping spots go up and down, but the spots themselves are almost level. First sites are all along the camping entry road and river. If there's traffic, you'll here it. The rear spots are all covered by trees, which I suppose could be good or bad depending on the weather. Bathrooms pretty rough. Looked and felt unkept. Usually I'll use the bathhouse instead of the RV, but not this time. Employees friendly. Email reservation said the gate had a code, but the gate was open 24hrs, it looked like a manual gate and I did not see any code device present. I believe the lower number sites have no sewer, the upper ones, above the bathhouse all appeared to, but you'll want to confirm.
