Love day hiking here. Peaceful trails and well maintained. A little gem in Paulding County. Never too many people and although the trail system is advertised as biking and hiking I rarely encounter mountain bikers. In all there are 7.5 miles of trails with the Blue Trail or “Pine Pong” Trail being the primary trail. Green and Yellow trails can only be accessed via the Blue. I recently hiked approximately 6.5 of the 7.5 miles and it was a wonderful and head-clearing experience. Not much in the way of views but certainly peaceful and not overly strenuous. The Green Trail (Rocks of Doom) is named appropriately. There are several sections with a lot of rocks and gravel-like spots. Careful with your footing!

The park is decent, the county is very bad about giving the proper maintenance, the restrooms were renovated and closed soon after, they privatized the trail for the new houses being built apparently as they added some gates to block it from the rest of the park. Dog waste bags always empty, they relocated the park sign to the new entrance which makes the privatization of the trail more obvious, and they didn't even take the decency to retouch the paint. Park isnok I guess but it receives the least amount of maintenance. Just sad how Paulding County is very lacking of maintenance mowing grass, maintenance on parks and roads. Your extra penny goes a long way they said.

Go directly to the right when you enter to go to the trails and pond. This park has a beautiful 9/11 memorial called Liberty Park. There are huge koi in the pond, and ducks and turtles as we'll. There are many unmarked trails. Don't bother with the map- it's useless. We walked until we came to a private property sign, and then made our way back. The creek is beautiful! Enjoy!

Went to the park to enjoy the beautiful day with my love (GF). This is not a post to be frighten about . As my GF and I were on our blanket in the sun I noticed a man that was acting out of the ordinary. He was walking from the parking lot down to the lake for me I felt no threat all though I did notice the man being overly interested in us . My GF and I are adults and we were laughing and having fun just talking about what ever. we were civilized and doing nothing wrong . This man was not in the park attire nor did he act like he was there to enjoy day. He had no problem letting me know he was there . When I looked at him he was already looking at me my suspicion and gut feelings are always right . As he was walking in our direction less than 100' away every time I looked at him he was already looking as if I was going to get a duck and take it home or something. I only hope this man was there for good reasons, we all know alot of mischief goes on at the parks. This was either a man that was there to help prevent a bad situation from happening or he was there for more sinister reasons. What ever it may be he was no threat to me. Maybe this was him making sure the park is kept safe from the wickedness that has touched many innocent human beings . Let's only hope he was there for the better good of humanity. I don't know. If you want to be monitored at the park then Mt tabor may be the one for you. I do not know his intentions but I will tell you he was not minding his own business and that was obvious. We felt like he was a creep and was up to no good and we left . I will follow up on this man if he is there at the park when I go back to Mt tabor park. I post this because I am concerned. The man looked normal nothing out of the ordinary other than he was overly interested I us . We were not doing any thing kinky or xxxx just laughing and trying to lighten the burden that life has put upon us . Let's hope he was up to the greater good for the people of...

I’ve been a resident of the New Hope area for 25 years and have enjoyed utilizing the walking trails at Mt Tabor Park almost weekly for most of that time. That is until recently when the county appears to have given up the walking trail parking area to a developer. One of the best things about Mt Tabor was its proximity to the New Hope Community. In addition to the proximity, it had great walking trails that wandered through the woods down to the creek bottoms or if it was messy and rainy out, you could stay on a paved path that went by the duck pond and was about a quarter mile in diameter. For the last year the paved path has been cut off by development for a new subdivision. You could still walk the path but had to walk through the red mud to complete the loop. Recently, the developer finished paving the entrance road to the subdivision and you could walk down the road and avoid the mud for the most part. Now as you can see from the pictures they have placed no trespassing signs at the entrance… but from everything I can see on the map, that is provided by Paulding County, this property still belongs...

Over a year ago 2022 There is a short concrete walking trail that is good for strollers. Takes you around to the gazebo where you can watch the geese on the small pond. Not totally flat but not too steep of a hill.

Looks like there was a great biking/hiking trail with one way directions. Also certain days are for bikers only (the trail is single person) and certain days for hikers/joggers on the trail

Update 9/18/2023 This park is going downhill fast. Was there today and they are tearing up a super wide path on part of the paved walking trail and taking out part of one of the good hiking trails through the woods. Something about an access road to a new development. The playground is showing wear and bathrooms were closed at playground. I don't go up near the fields so not sure what they are looking like. The pond is very stagnant also. Gazebo needs some upkeep. They are letting this nice little park go to ruin. Travel to White oak may be a better idea. Disappointed in the lack of care and...
