I am reviewing the part of the park that was open today. Apparently in the off-season the swimming facilities and such are closed. We went to the boat launch and picnic area which was extremely pleasant. It was well-maintained, clean and had nice views of the lake. It doesn’t have tables but it has a nice hillside that you could lay a blanket on and have a most wonderful picnic. I have to confess that the reason my dogs and I went there was because of a small panic situation. Our youngest, a 14-month-old basset hound, has the worlds smallest bladder and was declaring a potty-emergency. So I thought this might be a place that they could at least walk a little bit. Just be aware, you really need to pay attention to the signs because I honestly almost passed the entrance. Second observation, if you do stop there with your dog, remember to bring poop-bags as they didn’t have them available. I’m always carrying them so it was not a problem for us. We will be stopping back by as the weather gets warmer to look at the rest of the facilities but if it’s as well-maintained as the facility we stopped at, I expect it to...
