Just returned from my first Elk viewing experience. Two mornings in a row, this spot turned out to be the most active for me. This morning there was a bull maybe 20-30 yds away by the lower part of the meadow. Later, caught a calf, cow, and bull running across Rt. 555.
I think this also has the best setting with the meadow in front of the forest. A good mix of viewing options between the meadow trail and the viewing platform.
The meadow seems like it would be a great spot for some birding.
