It's all about the levee and a bunch of really nice natural walking paths. It's open late so you can play games like capture the flag, hide and go seek and enjoy summer evenings while they're cool. The best thing about it is the big oak trees, but some of them have gotten very old or succumbed to the harsh environment of climate change and need to be replanted. Also there used to be more playgrounds but they tore them out needlessly. It was really sad when they tore out the big beautiful one around the gorgeous sycamore tree and cut the sycamore tree too. That just felt petty and short-sided. Those playgrounds were built by our families and to have them so callously destroyed instead of upgraded was a bit enraging. Despite these changes it's still the best park around and while it's former glory is diminished by these acts of short-sided cowardice ( cow towing to fear of insurance company's instead of using common sense) it is still really a great place to get together with family to kick the ball around have a picnic and just enjoy being together with friends and...

I'm only giving this park two stars. Plenty of parking and nice grass area for play with the little ones or a picnic on the grass. Restrooms are dark and scary. We been living in Gilroy for 5 years. This year have to say this park is a huge disappointment to us on the playground area. The first thing that upset me was this 8 or 9 year old playing there running around coughing everywhere and touching everything she was sick bad cold. Then she started coughing up then she puked on the playground. After that she started playing again. Where was her parents. Her dad was waiting in the car. I couldn't take it so we left. A month passed so we went back so my kids can play. Having a good time. Then some kid about 4 years old starts taking a piss right by the slide. His mom not even paying any attention on her phone texting! Again we left. Watch your damn kids don't be waiting in the car or texting the whole time. Play with your children have fun. I won't be back here with these puking...

This is a huge park complex in Gilroy, CA. My family stopped there to break up a long drive down to Big Sur. We had such a nice visit we stopped there again to break up the drive on the way back. I think we'll make a habit of this so long as my boys are young enough that you need to let them run around after two hours or so of riding in a car. Anyway, there are a number of things to like about the park. It's huge, with many sections: a children's playground; a huge BBQ pit and picnic table area; at least one baseball field; I think here may also have been a soccer field. Walking around the whole thing would take 20-30 minutes. Also, both times we went there was a lively atmosphere. There was a guy driving a little ice cream truck around. There were mariachi bands. There were lots of people having a genuinely good time. Bottom line, it seemed like a nice, fun,...

Really enjoy this park especially on Red Barn side trails to walk your dog. The uvas creek is a bonus were your dog can take a dip to cool off. The other side has a kids playground, BBQ pits with seating and lots of shade. There are many trails on both side just be careful some people do not leash their dogs which could put their dog in danger if it would run up on a dog that has aggression towards other dogs at there expense but luckily I do not have that problem with my dog. I firmly believe there is a correct way to introduce dogs to each other than having a dog run up off leash onto another dog. It's a very enjoyable park with many trails and water on both side. Yes bathrooms are available. The garlic festival is held there yearly as well. Also lots of wildflowers including poppies during April great for photography.

My family has absolutely fallen in love with this park over the last couple years. The playgrounds are large enough to accommodate all the kids, even when the park gets crowded. There's also a nice little culvert/creek that usually has at least a little water running through it. It's all runoff from the roads and fields, so I'd minimize swimming, but it's great just to sit near, or for rock-tossing. There are some hiking trails, but we've yet to try them, as our kids are still a bit too young for real hikes. My only real complaint is the state of the restrooms (at least the men's). It feels like all manner of disease might be lurking in the peeling paint and scummy sink. *UPDATE* They have finally built new restrooms, but they're often "Closed Due to Vandalism", according to the signs on the door.

I had visit this park for the first time ( January/19/2021). Nice park, easy to find parking spot. Friendly for all ages, It has picnic tables, playground, hiking trails, and biking paths as well. No signs on trails, but it’s very easy to follow. So many different patches to choose, from the pave roads, dirty paths, and some are very suburban. My favor was hiking along the creek it’s very peaceful and relaxing, also good place to enjoy birds life.
