This place is just amazing! Pat Acton's craftsmanship is amazing, and I'm glad a lot of his pieces are still in Gladbrook for tourists to enjoy. I really liked that my boys immediately understood this museum, so I didn't need to explain much to them. I said we were going to a "builder's" museum as we were driving there, because I didn't want to explain before we got there. The boys seemed to immediately understand how much work went into the pieces. It's one large room, too, so I could supervise what they were doing. And we had great ice cream at the town grocery...

Absolutely amazing! A must see for everyone. Not only the exquisite display of work. But also had a full size car (Camero) made of match sticks, including the tires, to the full scale interior, with steering wheel, stick shift. They had it connected to a power box that the hood raised. Headlights came on, movable parts under the hood, wheels turned and the engine sound just added the additional asomeness of the car. Using thousands of matchsticks for all his exhibits. Also has some located at the Ripley's Believe it or...

This is a small but fascinating museum. People never stop amazing me, and the artist of these match stick creations is an excellent example! The time, dedication, patience, and talent it took to build even the smallest object is astronomical. From the Capitol building to the sailing ship's sails, to the flying eagle - every single object is rather unbelievable and extremely impressive! This is an out of the way small town stop, but I encourage you to take the time to go. The staff was great! Polite and...

Gladbrook Iowa! Really no reason to be in this town unless your going to this museum. 5 bucks gets you in the door to see some interesting items made from match sticks, not matches. A knowledgeable volunteer will answer any of your questions and a video on loop will give you the low down of the man making this stuff. Most of the real cool stuff isn’t here but with Ripleys Believe it or Not. But theirs enough here to keep you occupied for 30 min or so. Enjoy!
