Crump Park is truly a key part of our community. The park has something for everyone—whether it’s hosting bike races, hot air balloon events, Bark in the Park, animal shows, or serving as the home field for local baseball, softball, football, and cheerleading.
There are plenty of off-road trails for the kids to enjoy mountain biking or for anyone who just wants a peaceful walk in nature. Feeding the geese is always a treat, and sometimes it’s nice to simply wander through the woods and get a break from the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. The park feels tucked away and peaceful.
One of the highlights is the historic farm at the top of the hill, where you’ll find cows, sheep, goats, and other animals. The recently renovated playgrounds are a big plus for families, and the facilities are always clean, safe, and welcoming.
I feel very privileged to live nearby and have access to such a well-maintained park whenever I want. Thank you to Henrico County for keeping Crump Park such a beautiful and enjoyable place...
Read moreThis park is hugely underrated. I believe it to be the premier public park within Henrico County. Upon entering the park, you will be greeted by a large playground and picnic area with restrooms nearby. Beyond that is a large field where you are will find people flying kites, RC drones/planes, playing soccer or ultimate frisbee, sunbathing, or even exercising! In the far-back side of the park you will find a family friendly animal farm. On occasion, the park will have special events where you can interact with these animals! In the far-right corner of the park you will find a very large sports park complete with baseball fields, football fields, and even active concessions during tournaments and games. In the far-left corner of the park you will find a small stocked lake where you may catch and release fish. Beyond the lake are numerous walking/biking trails to enjoy! Be sure to stop by the Glen Allen Market before visiting to get all your...
Read moreHuge park in Glen Allen - must admit I don't visit it that often since we are so spoilt for other West End choices like Deep Run, Twin Hickory, Echo lake, etc. Hosts many events - fun for the whole family.
Love it that it kinda has graded activity levels by age/ability. Younger kids can have fun at the playground and stop at the first lot. Moderate hike loving folks can park at the second lot near the museum and enjoy the extensive criss-cross trails round the secret lake behind the barns almost all the way to I295. Didn't see a trail map. And no paved trails here. Loop road between first and second lot pretty decent walk by the bigger lake on nice days without the sun.
Athletic youth try their game skills on the fields all the way at the end, pretty sure most of us don't go there. And if you make it, there's a bonus for rail fans like me. A little far from the more populous suburbs - hence remains...
