Amazing hike, but pretty gnarly in some spots. Parts of the trail were so steep it required crawling on my hands and feet to to avoid losing traction and sliding down the hill.
Have some good hiking boots with you as well as a hiking pole. Lots of water and some snacks to enjoy once you reach the top. I would also advise sunscreen and bug repellent.
The view is amazing and there is a set of 3 large concrete slabs; Perfect place to rest and eat your lunch. Also a great potential spot to set up a couple tents since the slabs are large, smooth and level. Just remember no camp fires or open flames up there and it can get very cold this high up certain times of the year.
Last thing I'll mention is if you do decide to take this hike or any other trail for that matter: Please don't litter... It is such a shame to be hiking through beautiful wilderness only to see empty water bottles, beer cans and broken glass...
