The Nature Center offers many activities for the kids. They have several live animals which you can observe and learn about. The volunteers are all excited to be there and quite knowledgable! Don’t be hesitant to ask them a question or two. There is an old house behind the nature center. It’s usually open on weekends and you can take a look how a family with 15 kids lived in this two-bedroom tiny house - can you even imagine that?! If you go further, there is an outdoor space for the kids to play. I absolutely adore the small kitchen! I always sit down and wait for a special dish the kids prepare for me. One filled with preschooler nature themed matching games, dominoes, and puzzles, while another had a puppet show area filled with many nature themed puppets. There's also a calm bird watching room with multiple kid sized binoculars and we were able to spot several native birds in the short time we spent inside. No picnicking allowed which was disappointing since we brought a lunch. We were able to enjoy it at the ajacent nature center. We were there on a weekday so it was not surprising to see a lot of maintenance vehicles.
