Its a wonderful beach a little more isolated than others in santa barbara area. I really love that you can find tidepools with anemones, mussels, some crabs (look in my pictures) and more if you are patient enough. It's perfect if you want to show your children some wildlife. Read moreI haven't been to Haskell's Beach in about 25 years. Mostly because its very far from my house. However, today I went with a visiting sibling and his family. It was an absolute perfect day to go. This morning it rained in Santa Barbara, and was a little chilly. But when we got to the beach it was sunny, warmer, and there was a nice breeze. This beach has a lot of rocks one must transverse over to get to the beach, but its totally worth it! The water wasn't too cold and its a well maintained place. The Bacara Resort maintains the beach and the surrounding area. It is quite lovely and clean. There are well marked trails and small signs that point out flora and fauna. There was a really sweet guy who gave us a ride back to our cars. There is some tar that will adhere to bare feet and shoes, so have some baby wipes and baby oil handy to take the tar away. There's an outdoor shower there. Bring cheap cooking oil and dishsoap to scrub/wash the tar off your feet. Loads of tar washed up during our visit. One in our party had tar heel to toe covering her feet.
