Its a wonderful beach a little more isolated than others in santa barbara area. I really love that you can find tidepools with anemones, mussels, some crabs (look in my pictures) and more if you are patient enough. It's perfect if you want to show your children some wildlife. It's a good spot for surfing if you are looking a more quiet spot than downtown. Walk on your right when you arrive on the beach to find the tide pool. The walk to the beach is short (<few minutes) and you have some panel that explain the nature and native Americans life on your way to the beach :) You can have tar. Like all the beaches around. Depending of the weather. But today I did not see any. The parking is not super big, so come early. Especially on the weekend. I saw tennis court too (look pictures) but idk how to apply for using them ( it's probably owned by the resort just close to it) Don't forget to keep the trash with you and the dogs poop :)

super cool beach. ability to have a fire: amazing. Parking, 1/8 mile walk to the beach and it's free. easy to find. Bathrooms are amazing. Like, out-of-place amazing. See other reviews. There's an outdoor shower there. Bring cheap cooking oil and dishsoap to scrub/wash the tar off your feet. Loads of tar washed up during our visit. One in our party had tar heel to toe covering her feet. People were learning to surf in the waves there. Sunset spectacular. (If you stay past sunset, bring a flashlight, the path back to the parking is not lit.)

Local favorite. Next to Bacara Resort and Sandpiper Golf Course. Easy walk from parking area. Snack shack with limited hours. Outdoor showers for both feet and full body. Decent sized beachfront area though lots of drift wood and other natural debris all along beach. No restrooms. Old piers on the left near coal oil point. Lots of wildlife. Quite expansive area when tides are low. Beautiful sunsets!

I haven't been to Haskell's Beach in about 25 years. Mostly because its very far from my house. However, today I went with a visiting sibling and his family. It was an absolute perfect day to go. This morning it rained in Santa Barbara, and was a little chilly. But when we got to the beach it was sunny, warmer, and there was a nice breeze. This beach has a lot of rocks one must transverse over to get to the beach, but its totally worth it! The water wasn't too cold and its a well maintained place. The Bacara Resort maintains the beach and the surrounding area. It is quite lovely and clean. There are well marked trails and small signs that point out flora and fauna. There was a really sweet guy who gave us a ride back to our cars. There is some tar that will adhere to bare feet and shoes, so have some baby wipes and baby oil handy to take the tar away. All in all it was a wonderful time spent with family in a...
