I have to say I didn't have a great time. A part of it was bad luck and not the park's fault, but there are aspects of the park that made my bad luck feel even worse. First off if you plan on visiting in March make sure you don't come the weekend of the Goliad Rodeo unless you plan on attending anyway. The fairgrounds is next to the state park and you are going to hear everything going on in the Rodeo until 10pm every night; I can't understate how loud the PA is at the Rodeo. My other main gripe and bad luck is just bad neighbors. They played loud music until 11:30pm and we're cackling like hyenas until after 2am so even after the Rodeo was over I was still stuck listening to them. They also had a bright lantern that was shining directly on my tent. This is all exacerbated by the fact that the camp pads are very close to each other (I was in the Jacales area, sites 21-44) there should probably be half the number of camp pads at least in this area. Highway 183/77A also cuts right through the middle of the park by an overpass so you are going to have significant road noise pretty late into the evening and early in the morning regardless of what area you are in.
