The easiest way to do this hike is to park close to Cougar Rock campground (we parked on the road) and then hit the trailhead on the opposite side of the road. I would say this is a moderate hike that is 1.5ish miles one way (and not 1.1 miles as displayed). There is a fair amount of ascend required which makes the initial half pretty tiring. The trail begins with a river crossing that is so pretty with Mt Rainer in the background. Once you cross the river, there is a little bit if flat walk, and then its mostly a climb all the way to the waterfall. After you see the waterfall on the right-side, make sure you go up a little bit more to get a much clearer view of the cascade. The trail does continue further, there are smaller falls and creeks along the way, but i don’t think its worth it. If you hike for about 4.2 miles, you will get to Reflection lakes. A snake was the only wildlife we saw...
Read moreThe trail starts passing the rocks and river through a wooden bridge. Their is parking on the road and easily available, I went on oct 30, Sunday. It was raining the whole time, so probably make sure you’re all set for that, I was not. Well maintained trail, didn’t see any wildlife, it’s moderate, a steady incline after you pass the carter falls. The trail had snow and water, so walk carefully. This was unplanned for me because originally I wanted to see the skyline trail loop which was completely covered with snow, and fog all around. The weather is likely to be rainy and foggy. The carter falls itself was Peaceful to look at, not so big. I would say if you don’t have any other option and just want to explore, its...
Read moreIt's about 1.70 miles one way from the parking area, and at the beginning, you can walk along a rocky road and cross the wooden bridge, and it's a straight uphill road, but you can walk easily. It's okay as long as it's not in the rain, but it's a hiking road that you have to move with about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours. It was a little disappointing because the location where you can see the waterfall is not the front, and it looked a little dangerous, so I think it would be good to be careful. Like all national parks, dogs are not allowed to enter, so please...
