I am so disappointed and very upset in the service I received over the past weekend from this establishment. I have never been treated so poorly. I had a pontoon boat reserved for several months and have spoken to a certain employee here on several occasions about my reservation. On each occasion I was assured that I had a reservation. I and another member of my family tried to pay a deposit for our boat more than once but were told that it was not necessary. I even spoke with the employee the week before we were coming about moving the pick up time and the cost of gas. When we arrived on Friday morning to get the boat we were told we did not have a reservation and that there were no other boats available for us to rent. I asked if this certain employee was available for me to speak with and he was not there that day. His dad was there and assured us that his son would NEVER reserve a boat without a deposit. I told them that we tried to pay a deposit on several occasions and were told it was not necessary. We were basically left with 40 people expecting a boat for the day and no boat. Never were we told that they were sorry for the confusion or did they even seem to care that they screwed up. When asked if there was another place in town to try to get a boat we were told no. What happened to customer service these day. We were basically told that our whole story was a fabrication even though we had the name of the person we had spoken with on several occasions. Basically his kid messed up and he was covering for him.
There is another place in town to rent boats and it is called THE DOCK and they are great!! They bent over backwards to help us. We were able to get a boat from them immediately and I cannot say enough good things about Shane and the staff at THE DOCK.
I will be telling everyone I know to not go to Stumpys or the Lake Granbury Marina and go to The Dock if you want to be treated...
Read moreCan someone please tell me what the $40 dollar charge is for? Also, we were charged $45; there was one propeller that broke, another that was cracked before we got on the boat, we took pictures of it.
The two young men assisting our family were kind and very helpful. We were unable to enjoy our full 2-hour reserved time (we came in 30 minutes before our time) due to the broken propeller and my elderly mom having a panic attack on the boat. Of course, what happened to my mom wasn’t the fault of the marina rental service.
We asked Chad about a possible refund for the unused time due to the propeller and mom situation. He told us that he needed to speak with the manager. He tried to call the manager, but no one answered and no one further talked to us before we left.
I called, spoke to a manger on the following day, 7/2/24. Unfortunately, the manager didn’t seem to know why I was calling, was quick to charge $45 (not realizing we had pictures and talked to Chad about only being charged $25), but offered nothing more because he told me time cannot be prorated.
I understand rules, but there was truly more compassion and helpfulness from the two young men that helped us board the pontoon boat we rented, they even offered to help us with my elderly mother. The conversation I had on the phone with the operations manager was definitely less understanding and not about customer service.
Kudos to the two young men for being gracious and kind. The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed it before our...
Read moreWe rented a pontoon and the whole experience was fantastic! The boat was in great shape - clean, well-maintained. The staff gave us a thorough introduction to the boat as well as the lake (the importance of staying in the channel due to trees under the water - although that DID freak us out a little and stressed us worrying about it). They took a video of the boat prior to us leaving so there was video evidence of the boat before we received it.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. The whole process was easy and made for a fun day on the lake. It would've been helpful to have a copy of the map they showed us at the desk - just to have a better idea of where the channel crosses back and forth.
I would definitely return and recommend...
