Great day for the family.

Had my mom, my sister and cousin and three nieces and nephews (2 - 10years old) picking strawberries. All of them were able to pull the strawberries off the vines.

The farm had a strawberry tasting of 12 different kinds of strawberry from watery to sweet to tart.

The fields have different combinations of strawberries so you pick the field best based on your preference.

For people that don't like to much walking it's very field picking fields but you do need to bend down to get strawberries. It was much easier for the kids to get them 😂😂. Let's just say they did most of the work.

The ground could get a bit uneven at times but good for the most part.

I will definitely visit again.

They do accept debit...

My daughter and I shopped Red Fire's Farm stand at Forest Park in Springfield 9/26/23 and had a bad experience. One of the female employees told their cashier that my daughter had stolen something and put the item in her purse. She said it loud enough so that my daughter could hear and described the floral hat she was wearing. She then passed by my daughter and says "nice pocketbook ". First off I checked the purse and she didn't take anything, secondly my daughter is gainfully employed; as a matter of fact her iPad and Versace sunglasses, which she purchased, are worth more than all those veggies on that stand, third why didn't she call the cops if she felt she was stealing, lastly I will no longer patronize...

You can get organic produce almost anywhere now--but not like the wonderful fare on Tuesdays at Red Fire Farm booth at Farmer's Market in Forest Park day.

I had to curb my enthusiasm after picking up red, red organic tomatoes, lovely eggplant and cucumbers and a yellow zucchini, and some peaches and swiss chard, and ground tomatoes (yum--thank you Gabe for your help), and ...well you can see I didn't really resist much.

I can't wait to make my sauteed veggie bowl of onions, garlic, swiss chard, canellini beans and shitake mushrooms (from Urban Artisan Farm booth) with two poached eggs.

This is the freshest produce around, and certainly the friendliest...

We visited this farm in the middle of spring because we saw they were selling garden plants. They had a good variety of tomato plants for sale that I've never seen in other larger nurseries, including black cherry, wild, and chocolate stripe. The employees were friendly and helpful. Inside they were offering free refreshments and a 'door prize' that consisted of your choice of garden plant. They had local honey, pastries, drinks, and freshly grown produce for sale. The farm also offer co-op farming for fruits, vegetables, and eggs. They have an annual tomato festival in the summer as well.

We came across this farm last August by accident, we signed up for the remaining summer shares and have been very happy about it since. There's pick your own options for some produce during summer, it's a great activity with our son every week when we pick up the share. They also have a pretty good selection of local products, and we got our Christmas tree there too. We love this farm.
