Steamboat Rock Trailhead — Attraction in Grand Coulee

Wonderful campground. Each site was large, paved and level trailer pad. A bit far from the beach, but beautiful park and nice beaches and swimming are. Boats can pull up onto the sand. Nice boat launch.

• There is no close grocery store so stock up when going through Grand Coulee. Nice bathrooms and showers, which do cost $1.25 for 7 minutes. I was disappointed with them not being cleaned regularly. Very much an outdoor lovers area. Camping, boating, fishing, paddle boarding, hiking, rock climbing and cycling. They have life jackets available and rent paddle boards and kayaks. Poor cell phone service, no WiFi or tv reception. It was very hot in the day, we are there the first week of Sept. Cooled down nicely in evening. Dogs...

What a fun place to explore. The history of the glacial erratics left on top of Steam Boat is fascinating. We hiked up in late December, with a dusting of snow. We saw a herd of deer at the top. The first few feet is a three point scramble but after that it's very doable. With the cliff edges at the top I would not recommend allowing your pets and children to run...

A gem among Washington state parks! 4 camping loops each offer a slightly different view of the lake. Each one has exceedingly clean and accessible bathrooms that are both unisex and handicapped accessible. Paved trails link all camping loops and the e reaction sites and dirt trails enmesh the rest of the island. Wish I had more time to explore this...
