I went with my church group to see the presentation of On Damascus Road. We ate there, I had the catfish dinner which was really good. The show started just as it was getting dark I took pictures before because my phone doesn't take good night pictures. It had the scene when the Holy Spirit came on the disciples, the one where Peter and John were preaching. It also had where Stephen was stoned for spreading the gospel. Saul was trying to stop them by throwing the christians in prison, stoning them,or killing them. Then Saul was going to Damascus to arrest some when a bright light shown down on him and the Lord made him blind for 3 days. Saul repented and Annanias came and prayed for him and his sight returned. He was saved and got baptised. Then the cast came out singing and dancing and that was the end.

This place truly has a story about a cute couple that followed the Lord’s calling and created memorable performances for all ages. Not only that, they help the community in a variety of ways. It’s sad that this will be their last season and handing over the baton to someone else. I believe July 27, 2024, will be the last performance, but go check.

We visited Friday July 13, 2018 to see Damascus Road. The grounds are lovely. The ampitheater is handicapped accessible with no steps at all. The benches are cushioned on the seat with a firm foam and vinyl. The backs are wooden with no cushioning at all. I was glad I had a pillow in the car. If you have any type of back, or hip problems you should bring your own lawn chairs. They do allow that, but the info isn't given on the website, nor was it given when I called. The production was an accurate Biblical account of Saul's encouter with Jesus. The actors were okay. It was very obvious they lip sync to a pre-recorded script, and some were pretty good at it, others not so much. I would have prefered they read their own lines, and bring their characters to life with their personalities and acting skills. The owners, Linda and Bill, did a great job of sharing the Gospel, their mission, and their passion and love for the Lord, people, and animals. I was impressed with all they do at their facility. We had no idea all the different things they offered such as animal therapy and teen challenge. Everyone of the staff was very friendly. The website is confusing as it states showtime is 6:30-10:30 which includes meal time. It does not state anywhere that the show starts at sundown or shortly after. Given the information we had off the website and from calling, we arrived shortly after 6 only to find out the ticket booth opens at 6:30. They start accepting meal tickets around 7. After eating you have about 2 hours to sit around, or go to the petting zoo, which is an additional fee per person. The food was severely lacking. I had a BBQ beef sandwich platter. The bun was terrbly dried out, and only had about 2 Tablespoons of meat on the bun. The coleslaw was warm. The baked beans were good though. Drink choices were tea, lemonade, or a cup of water. I was very disappointed. If you want soda it's an additional $1.50 per can same for bottled water. If we go again, we will go later just for the show, and grab a bite on the way there. I hope the information I have provided will allow others to be better informed, and have a better experience...
