Awesome little hike off the side of the road. If you start the hike at the sign and head down to the overlook, you can have a beautiful site of the falls. If you're more adventurous, then take the path to the right of the overlook, and you can walk up to and over the falls. There is some erosion, so be careful as you cross. If you continue across the falls, there is a path that you can take to follow the creek and eventually get down to the creek bed and check out the area. It has a very fantasy world feeling going on, so I highly recommend it to those of you who like that.

Now, there was a path to the left of the overlook, but I did not go down that way. I did see little children down there at the base of the falls, so I assume that the left path may have been the easier way down, but move at your own pace and discretion. Otherwise, a nice fun...

Manganese Falls is beautiful but there are several established paths that lead away from the falls and are very steep. This is not a location for young children or elderly. The trails have very little implements in place to keep people from venturing too close to the edge. The falls area is unsanitized in the fact that you can experience the falls as much or as little as you choose. Wear good footwear - not a place for...

This is a very short hike, for a pretty fun view of a really tall, yet skinny waterfall. DO NOT take your dogs to this one (or small children). There are many unstable cliff edges in this area, and to get a good view of the falls, you have to walk across some sketchy areas. You park right on the side of the road and walk into the woods and there it is! There are many signs reminding you of the dangerous cliffs here! ...

Nice stop when visiting Copper Harbor (which I would recommend). The falls are close to the road with a short, but considerably down hill, trail to the overlook. The falls were flowing beautifully when we visited. Be aware that the view from the lookout is partially obstructed by the forest. If small kids are traveling with you, be careful. Don’t let them run ahead. The overlook is small and partially unprotected.
