It's at one end of the runway, so it's close enough to see when the planes take-off and land on this side of the runway. Do bring your own binoculars if you would like to admire the planes as their tyres touch down and take off. It's always windy here and watching the planes during the day time is as much fun as it is watching them at night time with all the lights and all. Of all the times that I've been here, I've rarely been able to make out whatever was being said in the control tower probably because the speaker isn't too loud and it could be due to the fact that it's always windy and that's noise too besides the sound of the planes. You get a very clear view of the UPS hangar where they are always loading/unloading their huge planes. It's strictly forbidden to feed any wildlife specifically the birds as they cause damage to the aircrafts and therefore delays hence, DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS please! There are covered areas for sitting and plane-gazing with metal benches and tables available for use including structures for smokers. The place is well maintained and visited by a number of people everyday including families with toddlers. A must visit for everyone in the DFW area. Bring snacks or coffee and...

Founder's plaza is the next to best place in the world the and on most Saturdays there is a YouTube channel called runway dfw that you can watch for free if you don't want to drive to Founder's plaza but on Saturdays if you do decide to drive to Founder's plaza you should be there around 1:00 pm-3:30 pm to see some of the best planes in the world you can see the Airbus A380 british airways from London Heathrow, boeing 747 cargolux, boeing 777 American airlines from London Heathrow and much more. But if you want to see all of those things you will want to know about north flow and south flow. north and south flow are the direction of the wind. You want south flow wind coming from the south going north but if you have north flow wind from the north going south you will most likely get bored. So I am saying this as an airplane lover that has been saying this all from experience I have been following this advice and I have been able to enjoy every moment at Founder's plaza and I...

This was such a fun experience! I had no idea that this place existed until this past weekend. If you have little ones or really enjoy watching planes take off and land this gives you a front row seat to seeing this at the DFW airport. There are binoculars that have stands on them so smaller kids can reach and use them. Plenty of fields and grass that the kids can run in and a nice shaded gazebo even for picnics or to grab a quick snack. The gazebo area and fountain in the middle (pictured) were built to honor the soldiers that flew out and the R&R flights that brought soldiers back during the war that followed 9/11. It is a beautiful tribute to those flights and soldiers. The fountain in the middle was built to replicate the landing of those planes throughout that time period. The one side is actually broken so it was spraying water way to far out of the fountain but the kids didn’t mind and even got wet on purpose. Great free entertainment enjoyed by the...
