It's at one end of the runway, so it's close enough to see when the planes take-off and land on this side of the runway. Do bring your own binoculars if you would like to admire the planes as their tyres touch down and take off. It's always windy here and watching the planes during the day time is as much fun as it is watching them at night time with all the lights and all. Of all the times that I've been here, I've rarely been able to make out whatever was being said in the control tower probably because the speaker isn't too loud and it could be due to the fact that it's always windy and that's noise too besides the sound of the planes. You get a very clear view of the UPS hangar where they are always loading/unloading their huge planes. It's strictly forbidden to feed any wildlife specifically the birds as they cause damage to the aircrafts and therefore delays hence, DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS please! There are covered areas for sitting and plane-gazing with metal benches and tables available for use including structures for smokers. The place is well maintained and visited by a number of people everyday including families with toddlers. A must visit for everyone in the DFW area. Bring snacks or coffee and enjoy the view.

This was such a fun experience! I had no idea that this place existed until this past weekend. If you have little ones or really enjoy watching planes take off and land this gives you a front row seat to seeing this at the DFW airport. There are binoculars that have stands on them so smaller kids can reach and use them. Plenty of fields and grass that the kids can run in and a nice shaded gazebo even for picnics or to grab a quick snack. The gazebo area and fountain in the middle (pictured) were built to honor the soldiers that flew out and the R&R flights that brought soldiers back during the war that followed 9/11. It is a beautiful tribute to those flights and soldiers. The fountain in the middle was built to replicate the landing of those planes throughout that time period. The one side is actually broken so it was spraying water way to far out of the fountain but the kids didn’t mind and even got wet on purpose. Great free entertainment enjoyed by the whole family!

DFW Founders Plaza is a must-visit for anyone passionate about aviation! This hidden gem offers an unparalleled view of the airport action at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Whether you're an aviation buff or just looking for a unique spot to relax, this place has something for everyone. The elevated observation deck provides an excellent vantage point to watch the planes take land, and the informative signage helps you identify different aircraft. The picnic tables and shaded areas make it a great spot for a family outing or a quiet afternoon of plane spotting. One of the standout features is the live ATC radio broadcast, allowing you to tune in and listen to air traffic controllers guiding the planes. It adds an extra layer of excitement to your visit. During our visit, we had an opportunity to see; - A380 - A321 - Boeing 777 And a few light aircraft's

Founder’s Plaza is a gem of a park in the DFW area and a celebration of aviation. I’ve been coming here ever since it opened many years ago, and it’s just gotten more and more wonderful since then. It’s a relaxed and interesting place to watch planes take off and land from DFW airport. The park is landscaped with plants and trees native to Texas. If you are a travel or aviation lover, as I am, it’s a “must see”! They have a handful of picnic tables and benches but they can be a little crowded on nice days. But, you can bring your own chair or picnic blanket and take a space on the grass. Especially in this covid era, with travel largely on hold, watching the planes here can feel bittersweet, but for me, anyway, much more sweet.

Very nice place to watch airplanes but I believe needs more attractions. It is very peaceful here whether it is in the daytime or the night time. We took our 4 year old, whom loves airplanes, and he absolutely loved it! Parking is usually always available. Wherever you park you can just sit there and watch the planes from your car. Or you can get out and have a little picnic on the benches and tables that's available there, some under shade and some not. There is a display of an airplane and lots of historical marks all around the park. It is just an overall peaceful experience and I would recommend going in the daytime for family and to go at nighttime with your loved one or first time date bc it has a degree of romanticism.

Our toddler can't get enough of watching airplanes. This place was recommended by a friend and I do not regret taking them up on it. Not to difficult to get to, but there is a parking area with picnic benches where I imagine workers from DFW stop by to eat. There were a few families there when we went. A high traffic area for watching planes going in, out, and taxing around DFW. Neat family or date activity. There are also some plaques and information center areas to learn how the airport was founded and why the Fort Worth's boundaries are super wonky to include some of the airport. Other bronze statues as well as one that shoots water. Really cool for a half day out.
