DON'T GO UNLESS YOU HAVE BASE ACCESS!! This is on base so we were denied access. You can only get base access if you have someone with access sponsor you (is what we were told) I completely understand that they need to keep the base secure/ safe don't understand why they have a meusem if the public isn't allowed to it... like who does go there? And nothing I read online prior was screaming this information. So disappointed kids but we found other fun stuff to do.
Edit 4/5/25 Thanks Rob for your response! My review was based on our experience and how we were treated at the base entrance (kind of rudely to be honest. We are just a patriotic MT family wanting to see the museum and were treated sort of like criminals 😆) We were told by soldiers there that the museum is on base, therefore we need base access to visit it. The air park has a few static aircraft to check out in of the different aircraft that once used the base. An interesting fact on the base is in WWII the Soviets came to get aircraft as part of the...
Read moreFantastic military museum. Wouldn’t have guessed, all things considered, but this is a lovely display of military power that has been part of the landscape in northern Montana for decades. Definitely worth a visit if you’re interested in military history.
One thing to note, however, is that this is behind the gates of a military installation, so you will need to contact the museum director for access if you don’t already have a CAC or other means of entry.
The only reason that I gave it four stars is because the facility isn’t always open when the sign says it’s supposed to be. Went by twice before closing time and the curator had...
