The course is decent. The tee boxes are in rough shape. The course itself I would rate about a 3 for the price. The problem area is the staff. We booked a Tee time over the phone and confirmed the time. We got to the course early to warm up. We went to check in as soon as we got there. When we checked in we were told that we didn’t get our tee time. The worker said that sometimes the people who book online beat out the people who call in. We were told this even though we confirmed our scheduled tee time with the staff prior to arriving. We ended up having to wait for a tee time over half an hour later. While we waited we practiced on the practice green. While practicing, one I’ve the employees came over and told us that we couldn’t chip onto the practice green. He became very rude with us when one of the people in our group asked him a simple yes or no question. Later, because we had been waiting for a while and it was hot, we went into the club house to cool down before our new tee time. I over heard the employee Bob, talking poorly about us with another employee. They were going back and fourth calling us dumb kids among other things. I am not a kid I am almost 30 and look old for my age. I felt very demeaned and disrespected. It would be very beneficial if Huron Meadows would not only have signs to say no chipping on the practice green but also train their employees how to appropriately and professionally interact with customers. On top of that, the play was very slow. Plan to take at least 6 hours to play 18 and plan to wait on every hole.
I would not...
Read moreVisited for the first time today to try out the cross country ski trails. I paid the $40 annual member pass online the night before and printed my receipt to put it on the dashboard. The equipment rental seemed open when I arrived at 830am (online prebook required), but I had my own equipment so I just bought the $5 Bucks Run pass from inside the ski center. Bucks Run is the only xc trail you must pay a fee to use. To get to the ski center, just follow the signs to the golf club, which serves as the ski center in winter. The 1.25 mile Bucks Run trail is rated "least difficult "and starts right by the ski center. The large parking lot next to the ski center was mostly empty at 830am on Saturday and even when I left at 11am there were still some parking spots open. Bucks Run was nicely maintained with plentiful manmade snow and lighting for early morning/night. For the most part, no one else was in sight as I skied, but the trails had become somewhat more crowded when I left 3 hr later. There was nice variety of scenery and some shortcuts in case you want to skip one hill or repeat it. I also tried the 3.25 mile Hawk Hills trail which was free and also starts right by the ski center, but there wasn't enough snow on many portions of the classic tracks (skating path looked okay) and too many hills that were too steep to...
Read moreTHIS REVIEW WOULD BE A 5/5 IF THE ISSUES WERE ADRESSED This is a rating on the golf course, the course itself is great, it’s well maintained, the greens are nice and roll true, the tee boxes could use some work but there’s only so much you can do with the amount of people coming through that course, this course has very high potential but is cursed by bad management. Now all my complaints fall back completely on the management of the metroparks, this has nothing to do with the direct staff, this course is almost always slowwww, and I’m talking 20 minutes a hole, sitting on the tee boxes for 15 minutes slow. It’s pathetic, the metroparks stack the tee times as hard as they possibly can to get as much money as they can but that turns into a bad experience for the customer. All in all, the course has insane potential if they just spread the tee times out a little. I’ve been out there when the course isn’t so stacked up and it’s a great experience, you walk away feeling satisfied but 2024/2025 I have not had this experience much, it’s almost always packed and I always walk off saying I’m never...
